OK, well I just thought of something that would need to be tested by a bomber.

This is for a vaanduke boss fight.

Basically, since the stun bug fix, could you replace a Shiver with a stagger?

In theory, since he turns slower, couldn't you simply loop around him as you would have to after blitzing him with shiver?

If this is true, should I get stagger or shiver for LD?

In LD, freeze resistance is more common than stun. For Vanaduke, making him completely immobile with shiver is safer.

Wut?

U first said Vana and then LD...

Well, for Lord Vanaduke, I would keep Shiver, because he stands completly still, though, Stagger makes him do everything a lot slower, it doesn't "break" if u complete spam it.

For LD, Stagger and VT would be the most usefull, because Shock nearly always "kills" you, and Stun is very annoying, causing you to miss most of the time and rendering you useless

EDIT: Aw, Little-Juances did it first!

Staggering Vana at the right

Staggering Vana at the right times can interrupt his spawn animation, which is especially useful on P5. Spamming it can make it possible to go a full fight without him spawning anything at all. The problem is that you'd have to rely on move-and-shoot weapons, like alchemers (inc. charges) as with a Blitz unload time, even stunned, Vana'd still probably spin far enough around in time to at least cause you to worry. Shiver mitigates the problem entirely. Other than spawn interruption, there's really little reason to use Stagger over Shiver as Shiver is simply safer and more guaranteed, and can also freeze up the Slags in P5.

As for LD, it's the other way around. Half the populace wears Skolver so is immune to Shiver, then you'll have any number of others who happen to have freeze resistances, so short of hanging onto Shiver for opportune moments, you won't often get a chance to actually use it. Stagger however, is useful as it slows people down by a serious amount, even when strikers boost. With slow weapons they become more vulnerable than dangerous, although you do need to watch out that their damage will still be the same, even though you just won't be able to believe it, watching how slow they move. Worth it though. Although, as Pipinn said, there're more options than just Stagger. VT is the commonly used haze as it works on most people and at the very least scares them off. VT and Stagger work a treat, mind you; perfect for killing!

Ok, one last question

OK. In LD I very often meet Late-Night who uses mercurial demo suit.

Now I already have a tempest that doesn't affect him. He also has extra weapon slots so he uses tempest + heavy sword for other bombers.

Anyone got any advice.other than spam a Polaris?

As a bomber I use several

As a bomber I use several loadouts, but I also use 4 weapon slots. I carry everything from various mixtures of hazes to vortexes. I make sure that no one person is immune to everything I have to offer, even if I can only drop them with a VV and leave them poisoned for my teammates to kill. VV is something that virtually no one has any real resistance/immunity to (except the odd Shadowsun gunner) and people don't take it seriously and just run through. Then wonder why they couldn't kill anyone before they got killed.

Shiver is also a good option to deal with shockwalkers, as they often forget that shock isn't the deadliest status and don't put any freeze resistance on and allow themselves to get caught up completely. S'handy to have Shiver as an option, somewhere in your loadouts.

As for defending against him, I've just found that getting a shockwalking set is the solution to most bombers, as I'm rare in the sense that I carry a wide variety of bombs; the vast majority of people who bomb/haze only really carry VT. Divine Veil + Wyrmwoods = shockwalker. Then it's just a matter of walkin' through the VT and droppin' your own bombs, immediately pushin' them out of the area and puttin' them on the defensive.
