Hey, poison weapons are kinda... useless and few an far between.

maybe we could have a piercing/poison based Alchemalizer or maybe a poison/shadow variant trokia

Piercing/Poison: Plague

Piercing/Poison: Plague Needle
We don't need a second GF that deals poison instead of curse....

About plague, it's out damaged by blitz and it's status effect is only useful on vana. other statuses have more versitility, we don't need all the different fire inflicting or shock or freeze inflicting weapons but it's nice to have. I'd just like more end game weapons with poison xD

It's not a need but a want.

Hmm. Currently we have the Venom Veiler (THE poison weapon, everything in its range gets sick), the Dread Venom Striker (Poison/Normal, hits fast but is a bit dangerous to use- so perhaps the poison is there to make mistakes less costly), the Biohazard (Poison/Shadow, slow bullets but very good for Jellies and, according to Fehzor, really good with Ice), and the Plague Needle (Poison/Piercing, like a weaker Blitz with Poison). That's four weapons.

Fire has: Combuster, FoV, Magma Driver, Ash of Agni. Same amount.
Freeze has: Glacius, Triglav, Hail Driver, Shivermist Buster. Same amount.
Shock has: Voltedge, Volt Driver, Polaris, Ionized Salt Bomb, Voltaic Tempest, Electron Vortex. Six weapons, that's two more than Poison.
Stun has: Sudaruska, Callahan, Stagger Storm, Scintillating Sun Shards, Irontech Destroyer, Big Angy Bomb. Again, two more than poison.
Curse has: Gran Faust. One. But it's Curse.

Yeah, more poison weapons are a good idea. More Fire and Freeze is also in order.

So, poison. We already have a weapon that makes poison gas (the Venom Veiler) and a weapon that shoots poison darts (a BUNCH of poison darts, the Plague Needle), as well as a poisoned sword and... Biohazard. A lot of different ways to apply poison. Perhaps a radiation- or Toxoil-themed weapon with low damage, but Poison AND Fire? Perhaps a gigantic exploding elemental Poison bubble? Any ideas to make your foes sick, post 'em here!

I would just add that...

Poison weapons are underused, so thus is the reason why someone would want to add new poison weapons.
OOO doesn't really rebalance weapons all too often, usually just adds new ones anyways.

ex: Plague needle, vastly inferior to the Blitz in almost every way, except for the fact that I don't care, so I use it
ex: Dread venom striker, this weapon has low damage per hit and a low proc rate of poison, so people don't really use it
ex: Venom Veiler, well people actually sometimes use this against healers, but that's it.
ex: Biohazard, good against jellies, but not so good against the shielded gremlins/dodgers.

In all cases these poison weapons are under-powered in terms of killing capability, but OOO probably took the poison proc into consideration when making these weapons weaker.

Poison reduces damage taken from the enemy by half modified by strength of poison (in some way). Increases damage enemies take by .25 modified by strength of poison (in some way).

I would need to do some testing to figure out the exact difference between minor poison vs strong poison; toxic atomizer vs vile striker. Too lazy.

The only way to play "medic" with weapons, is to use poison.

Poison causes enemies to inflict 1/3 less damage, and take 1/4 more damage. The strength of the poison merely affects the duration of the poison.

In my opinion, the reason poison-inflicting weapons are underused is because poison as a status is unappreciated. This community is full of people who would rather shell out tons of damage quickly than increase the amount of damage dealt over time and reduce damage taken. The best offense is a good offense. The best defense is a good offense. Why would anyone bother using a Venom Veiler against T3 gremlins when they could just whip out their CTR VH Acheron or ASI Max Gran Faust?

The papaya feels sorry

I'm starting to feel sorry for the sleep status....................No monsters inflict the status and no weapons do either...........

No.

Yes.

Poison is inarguably my favourite status, for both PvP and CWs. It cripples enemies just enough, and often more than they realise. Why take a VV when you could whip out a VH:asi acheron? Well, in the time it takes you to kill one of them, a VV has been dropped and the rest are poisoned. However fast you killed that last one just became "slow", especially if you are in areas where being hit back is more likely.

The problem is actually down to the lack of effective poison inflicting weapons (i.e, compare DVS to....most other swords. If there was a brandish that inflicted poison, there'd be less problems against poison than now), not that poison itself is bad. I'd absolutely squeal if they introduced a Venom Driver.

Try Plague Needle vs Veiler. I do see a 15-20 damage difference.
