in the social tab , you should be able to see how many stars and inspect their gear you guild mates and friends have so you know who to invite to a mission. the stars are shown below their name , and to inspect someone you just left click on their name and click inspect
Better social tab
a 5 star in proto set will still show up as a 5 star and , the stars are only for a quick run down of who the person is ,the inspect would be more helpful if you wanted to know the details , which i wouldn't care about
But what determines someone who is "a 5*"? Just someone who has access to five star gear? What if they have some 5* but not a full set? What if they have fifty 5* parts but aren't able to solo RJP w/o sixteen deaths?
Point was that ultimately it won't actually give you the information you need, as you'd be just as quick knowing/asking whether they're capable. Inspecting would only help if they happen to already be wearing the appropriate armour for that dungeon, otherwise you'd need to wait till they got there anyways. For example, as a Bomber I use different sets in virtually every dungeon, so it's unlikely I'll already be wearing the loadout for the dungeon you're inspecting me for. You'd either have to ask me if I want/can or invite me then inspect when I change; both of which are what you have to do as things are.
Just add "inspect" to the options when you click the person. or maybe add a "profile" thing.
yep, its not to give a diffient answer , but a guesstymate
Inspect would not be always useful/accurate; but still would be helpful.
Also, allow us to add/edit descriptions in the friends list.
"Random guy I met in FSC run, fights well"
"Newbie I met in training hall"
"Helped him with Royal Jelly"
etc.
Descriptions in a friend list would be wonderful.
I am terrible with names until we've chatted a few times. ESPECIALLY if you change your outfits a lot. ;__;

That, I could get down with~
I'd accept even a single line description. Like Steam friend list's nickname function.
BTW I'm not trying to override your original suggestion here... just adding to it. I do like the ability to inspect a friend remotely.
Would be waaaay too complicated and inaccurate to bother implementing. You could have a pro doing a challenge run in his proto and show up as 1* or you could have a fresh nooblet just hit 5* receiving invites to SFSC because he's marked as full 5*.
There'd be no fair way to gauge each player as star level doesnae calculate player skill or experience and will be near impossible to factor in the fact that late-game players have dozens of gear parts and may mix them up at any time. For example, I don't always come up at "full T3" in my overlay because I often use Swifty which is only 3*.
Besides, should really know which players are capable of what if you invite them often. Short of that, a quick "can do you..." wouldnae go amiss.
