I like the idea of a guild-unique NPC that can be customized in appearance and perhaps dialogue. It can greet players as they enter and be the center of a couple of services. What do you guys think?
Guild-customizable NPC(s) ala guild grunties from .hack//G.U.
Alphastevo, I think she means like almost a butler
And he shows up in specified locations, prompting services upon interacton
So if your guild happens to be ... I dunno~ Jelly farm; Then you could aptly dress up your butler/maid like a classy suited jelly, with a nice toupee to boot.
Also including coversation box customization, so to fully produce the fine chap with snazzy terms along the lines of: "I say.","My dear boy", "rather quite", "décor", "Jolly good" , "Exquisite" "etc..."
Great idea!
Keep this thread hot so the Gms can see it!
Also, only the Guild master should be able to set the mascot.
I think it would be better if you could populate your guild hall with customized NPCs, also with custom dialogue. They could use the programming for the Haven NPCs (maybe after a little revision). As for customization, maybe officers and above could interact with them, the way you would normally talk to NPCs, and there would be two chat lines. One which would follow the normal patch which other players would see, and one path which would take the officer/GM into an editing window where they can edit what each NPC said. They would also be able to choose what the NPC was wearing, based on what the guild had in their vault.
Sounds more like a guild mascot to me.
I like the idea of a guild-centered mascot!
But to leave it as just an NPC knight seems a bit...well, lame. I'd like to set up a monster as a mascot.
BUT if we're completely forgettin' monster NPC grunties, then yeah, I'd be cool with an NPC-Guide-Guild-Grunty.
