What should I craft? Polaris or Voltedge? I love them both equally, but the problem is, they are shock, and do almost the same damage. Can someone help me choose what I should craft please?

Voltedge if you don't have other elemental 5* swords. Also imo that's the best sword in FSC.
Polaris is great for turrets killing but never use it like an addicted idiot -- well, people call it SPAMMING. I used to spam it in PvE old days...but I no longer spam them in PvE/LD, the gun just makes me rage in LD and makes me kick its spammer in PvE. (Oh, it IS a great gun if you know how to use and where no to use.)

....Than polaris? Only swordies use brandishes, for the most part. Bombers and Gunners tend to carry heavy/light sidearms.
Everyone uses trollaris.

What are you currently using?
Polaris is good for suppressing turrets and is a decent all-round utility gun, but is generally best if you play solo and only use it sparingly in parties. Voltedge is a much more party-friendly weapon, given that it doesn't knock things all over the place unless you spam its charge all the time.
If you already have an elemental sword, go for Polaris. If you have an elemental gun, get Voltedge. If neither, then go for the gun, because turrets are an absolute pain to deal with and Polaris will make your life much easier.
