Really depends on your

Really depends on your skill/team. I went in with Seerus, Shadowsun and a Swifty as my first ever SL and came out fine, although I also had a team who knew what was going on and are great at the game.

Point is that you could stand a chance with that, or less.

Although, to be safe, I wouldn't advise 4* gear there; things have a lot of health and hit hard. Virulisk is also not so important, as piercing def can be found elsewhere and the poison really isn't that big a deal (imo).

As said Brady, really depends

As said Brady, really depends on your team and how well you play. But you can certainly improve your gear, here is my opinion :
- helm, both are not that good. Damage there is normal, piercing, shadow and poison. You should really take a helm with at least 2 of those.
- Virulisk is somewhat ok, but it's not 5*. Same goes for Ash tail. A skolver part is excellent for a first run.
- BTS is very good, short of a Dread Skelly Shield (which I wouldn't advise crafting just for that)
- Blitz is ok, but you may find yourself in trouble because of the lack of movement. That really depends of your skill
- Voltedge is great, you need an elemental weapon, that got you covered
- Daring Rigadoon is ok for a piercing sword, but same : better upgrade it to 5*. Just so you know, it's frowned upon because other piercing swords, FF and BTB, do much more damage. The status is, not that useful since things do too fast against those swords.

You may want to add (not necessary but it helps) :
- an elemental gun, especially Polaris for Howlitzers, or another one if you intend to also use it against kats/zombies/lumbers
- a support bomb. Both Shivermist and Voltaic Tempest are great at that job.
- some trinkets, you didn't talk about that. But start with upgrading everything else to 5*, trinkets are less important.

Of course, you don't need all that to succeed. That just improves your chances.

agree

I agree that you could make it through with a good team. If your team consisted of four copies of you (inexperienced, with not-great equipment) then you'd have a pretty tough time.

Have you read the wiki page "Shadow Lair"? You seem to be going in without any shadow defense, although the place is loaded with undead, which are far more dangerous than the beasts. And although BTS is nice for SGWW, I'd recommend a shadow shield for novices. There are sometimes an awful lot of howlitzer projectiles while zombies and kats are also attacking you.

A lot of the fights are very crowded. I haven't tried charging Blitz Needle in them, but you might not be able to get off your charges before being interrupted and badly hurt. I love the Brandishes, but do you have a wide elemental sword such as DA or WRH? In tight fights against the undead, it's nice to be able to hit multiple targets at once.

(And someone in your party should really have a crowd-control bomb, such as Voltaic or Shivermist, but of course that somebody doesn't have to be you.)
