countdown timer / clock for guild using and for all SK players

so after the GREAT guildhall update, our guild decided to have a meeting, and everyone is informed by the message of the day system. It worked very well until some one asked "what time is the meeting start ?" and we had no idea how to tell them proper time (obviously we live in different places). So after quick caculated I put "1 PM GMT/UTC time" and it caused mass confusing (apeared that GMT/UTC is not clearly enough :/ )

So my idea is to have a countdown timer likes the upkeep countdown with day/hour/minute/second :D that way members can figure it out the time of the meeting o any event we have.

Or we can have a fixed clock with date and time on it (everybody sees same time and date, I mean everyone in SK), actually I love this idea more because it easier to make an appointment with anyone, either they in guild or not. I know there is a time show in Arcade Gate, but seems like few people are known about it ~_~

So this is my small suggestion, thanks for reading and I hope it will come true :D Love you guys and what you are doing xD

hmmm

i think the timer seems better then an overall time for sk. i wouldn't like a overall time because some players living on the other side of the planet would think that they can only play sk when its night in sk cause of the time difference. sk doesnt have day and night (i hope it does) so having a time counting down to zero feels more appropriate.

Or you could simply tell them "2 days and 2 hours from now" or "tomorrow, 2 hours before", etc

reboot

currently we are using "after reboot" or "before reboot" to make time point, but then ppl asked "did we reboot yet ?" or sth like that, it's still a pain

the countdown seems to be the best solution right now

The system reboots at the same time each day, I don't know how people don't know when that is.

It's 2300 AEST.

@Hexzyle:

Quite honestly Hexzyle, you only know that because you're in a totally different timezone.

That's about 4 AM for me, I'm almost never on at that time. I didn't even know the server reset for months after I started playing.

...Why not just have a 'Game time' Clock that resets at it's midnight?

All meetings and whatever can be scheduled according to that clock.

There already is "game time." It's PST (GMT -8:00), Clockwork Time, and the time gate cycles are set to.

It is true that there are some people in the world that aren't up when the reboot occurs, but Americans are 9-13 hours behind me, so it'd be, what, morning-midday when the server reboots?

@Hexzyle, It's 1:00 to 5:00 in the morning, depending on where in America you live.

@Oat:
1 in the morning? It's 1pm in GMT; I wasn't even aware that anywhere in america could be 12 hours behind the UK...

Nosrsly, every time I've been there it's only been 6 hours behind, and the people I know there (and discuss it with) have been 6~9 hours behind.

Server just rebooted, looked at my global clock, it's 9AM and 2PM in East and West US respectively, not including DST.

I live on the US east coast and i wasn't even aware of these reboots until somewhere around a month or so ago, after about a year of playing the game...

I'd expect that a pretty good amount of people around this timezone (or those with odd schedules) wouldn't know either, so i think it'd be unreasonable to expect that everyone have the reboot time memorized for their region.
