The Armored Prize Box Promo

As per usual, the idea comes into everyone's heads "What will OOO's next promo be?" Well, hopefully it'll be this, so let me explain everything (And you read everything) Before judging.

The Armored Prize Box, in short, will contain every 1-5 star piece of Armor, Helmets, Shields, Swords, Bombs, Guns, and Trinkets (With some specials thrown in)

However, this pack will be EXCLUDING any Shadow Lair gear, Krogmo Coin obtained gear (Plague Needle, etc) And Boss obtained gear (Ancient plate, etc) As for obvious reasons as to not allow people to become overpowered.

The higher the star rating for the item, the more rare it will be. The table for rarity will be decided by OOO if they like this idea and wish to implement it, so let's not jump the gun here.

Other things the pack will/may/should/whatever include: 1, 2, and 3 UV tickets (Gotta roll on those newly obtained shiny pieces of armor!) Confetti (Have to celebrate your newfound treasures!) And Trinket/Weapon slots (Need all that extra space to whack enemies with more sharp swords!)

Of course, since it's a PRIZE BOX, it should also be its own CE promo, giving us something worth buying.

Now, to begin with, you may think this is a horrible idea. I don't blame you, but the truth of the matter is...

Most people who buy promos, never put the CE into circulation, but spend it on improving their gear. If OOO gives us the gear with the CE, we would have little use for it, other than to put it in circulation (Via turning into CR or to buy more fancy accessories, so you look awesome while cutting Vanaduke to death with a DVS)

Since this is just a suggestion, the true start of flight or decline rests solely on your shoulders, as a community. And as a community, you may now discuss this idea, and be honest. No matter how much you like, or dislike it, your words should be heard from another fellow member. Who will listen and understand, and perhaps even improve this idea much further than even I could anticipate.

So go forth, post the words that rest within your mind as you read this simple topic, of a simple suggestion, that can change SK's economy slightly (About, eh, 15%)

So if I'm reading your suggestion correctly, you're suggesting that OOO should be extremely lazy with their next promo by only using stuff that already exists and is accessible by any player given enough time.

I honestly don't think this will work like you think it will. The goodies included in a promo need to be cool and exciting enough to be a big incentive to people to pay up for them. This is also why such items are typically not available through other direct sources ingame (since even when buying from another player or AH, the item still needed to come from the promo first to exist).

If it's a choice between spending funds ingame to be able to choose an specific item of equipment I want or spending money to get something randomly chosen for me, the first option is vastly superior. Even if I wanted to be lazy and just get a 5 star item with no extra effort, the energy depot sells them providing you've progressed far enough in missions.

Your view is that people will pump the CE into the market since they won't spend it on improving the gear. My view is that fewer people will buy the promo in this first place because they either have all the gear they want or will opt to just buy directly what they want without the concern of relying on a random factor for a very slim chance of actually getting what they want. Even for those that do invest in it, there's no guarantee they won't spend the CE elsewhere on stuff like other equipment than they is if the promo includes more unique items.

Most people who buy promos,

Most people who buy promos, never put the CE into circulation, but spend it on improving their gear.

But this is not the problem. This is not even a problem.

Nuh-uh, we don't need random

Nuh-uh, we don't need random recruits getting 5* stuff way before their time.

Sure enough, people will have surplus energy and nothing to spend it on since you already , I mean gave them the gear.

But you're not giving a good incentive to sell it either.

-UV rolls might have been the answer, but you're also throwing away tickets.
-Fancy accesories was another solution, but now they can also get silver keys and farm boxes
Or they may as well spend it on Shadow Keys and Slots or to bribe Krogmo or just play the game normally 8revives, elevators) :P

Leaving aside the part thats says it breaks the game, it still might not have the impact you expect on the market.

You're essentially trying to get people to buy CE by offering them things that they can get somewhere else?

"Most people who buy promos, never put the CE into circulation, but spend it on improving their gear. If OOO gives us the gear with the CE, we would have little use for it, other than to put it in circulation"

This is the biggest flaw in your logic. Many people who buy CE promos buy them because the cost is lower, and they get exclusive items. Take away the exclusive items and you might as well just lower the price to buy CE. You are also suggesting the rewards be random. Say somone buys a pack hoping to get a vog cub coat. Suprise, he gets a blaster. Now what?

Addressing a few issues.

"Nuh-uh, we don't need random recruits getting 5* stuff way before their time."
The chances of that are a tad slim, but that is the point. I mean, if you give a 3 year old a shiny, new, expensive toy, chances are, it either gets used well or broken. We can't exactly control the fate of what a buyer does with their wares. This applies to pretty much everything a merchant sells.

"But you're not giving a good incentive to sell it either."
The incentive is based around newer players, as is OOO's in most cases. Without new buyers in SK, CE becomes a more valued currency, and we know exactly what that leads to... Sadly, even if this pack were implemented, as stated above, people have free roam to do whatever they want with their CE. But the pack is to give new and old players alike new toys to swing about without having to go through the hassle of buying it through ordinary means, or crafting.

"You're essentially trying to get people to buy CE by offering them things that they can get somewhere else?"
As lazy as I am, your response is pretty much the previous one. I apologize for the lack of originality.

I would also like to note that, on the topic of laziness, this would be a quick escape route for OOO if they were in need of a pack and had few ideas to work with. As most everything exists, and only a bit of coding would be required (As well as to make it bug free, it would only cost them 1-2 weeks) to make it possible.

Now, let's keep it resuming, shall we?

Some suggestion for the promo

YOUR TOPIC IS "ARMORED BOX PROMO" WHILE INSIDE THE BOX THERE ARE WEAPON?
IF YOUR YOU WANT A NEW KIND OF SWORD AND BOMB I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR YOU.
Sub-Zero:A BOMB THAT CAUSE STRONG FREEZE AND EXTREME DAMAGE WHEN THE ICE THAW,BUT LOW BLAST DAMAGE.
FROSTY-TOOTH:SAME LIKE FoV BUT INFLICT ICE DAMAGE RATHER THAN FIRE DAMAGE,THE CHARGE ATTACK IS STILL THE SAME LIKE FoV BUT IS FREEZE THE ENEMY.

For any 1 to 3 star non-boss item there is no hassle to buying it. They're freely available on the auction house at rather cheap prices. For old players there's no hassle to 4 and 5 star either since they're available at the energy depot if they really want to skip the crafting and heating process. The only possible appeal under this logic would be new players with 4 and 5 star, which are going to be rare items anyway in any such promo, and even then it applies only to players that want the toys NOW and are totally fine with throwing money away on gambling for a chance for an item that they can get given enough time.

In other words, your promo idea targets an extremely small niche and still doesn't offer an actual guarantee that those players who do buy it won't go spend the CE themselves. I honestly do believe such a promo would not perform anywhere near as well in relation to lowering the crown cost than promos offering unique items.

Ummmmmmm

This lets you practically go from being a new player to vanaduke and beyond. That's not good for a game's life. >.>

Why not just work a little like the homecoming event? You are this rank, so you get this star level of gear. That type of thing. Whatever the case, the gear needs to be new and unique. Something you can never ever obtain elsewhere. Something a little like the starter pack, if you know what I mean.
