And for the shield section?

Also i have a shivermist that has ctr high + ctr med, thinking about taking that instead of voltaic

shield

take a pierce one. it´s so much easier for the boss...
the other enemies are relatively easy to dodge

For a shield I would recommend Ironmight or a Plate shield in general. They're the only thing that can withstand Snarby's bites.

DBB is a must if you're a bomber, and I'd never enter a Shadow Lair without Polaris.

Interesting

The only two shields i currently own are an aegis with piercing high and a volcanic plate shield with shadow high

As for DBB i currently own a spike shower and am heating it up

Processing Thoughts of You Always

If you've got extra slots, you might also find a Nova Driver useful for dealing with turrets and lower numbers of enemies. Electron Vortex is also another nice choice for increasing effectivity if your party mates are bringing Brandish-line weapons, or Blitzes, or anything else that concentrates a high amount of damage into a small space. Polaris should be used mainly for suppressing turrets and 'oh god get it away from me' moments, which is okay if everyone else is dead or you're pushing stuff into the radius of a bomb but otherwise fairly poor party manners. Your Shivermist Buster should work reasonably well for replacing the crowd control of Voltaic, although it won't have any particularly high damage output on mobs.

The best defensive shield is a Dread Skelly, since the Howlizers and Kats are generally more dangerous than Wolvers or Lumbers. The two shields you currently have will do a decent job of protecting you, however. Aegis is probably the better option out of the two.
(Or you could go macho and get a Swiftstrike if you're good at dodging.)

snarbolax did normal damage, no piercing, iirc.

edit: nvm, the spikes does piercing, but the bite does normal damage.

I brought Volcanic Plate for my run, you'd be fine with it. You can pretty much bring Volcanic Plate for anything.

Chaos Hood Chaos Cloak Dread

Chaos Hood
Chaos Cloak
Dread Skelly Shield / Volcanic Plate Shield (Or if you're particuarly ambitious, Swiftstrike Buckler)
Elite Bomb Charge-Time Module
Elite Handgun Charge-Time Module
-Blitz Needle
-Storm Driver / Magma Driver
-Stagger Storm / Voltaic Tempest
-Nitronome / Big Angry Bomb

Never tested anything like this myself, but a CTR-based set using movement-control bombs to keep Kats and Zombies immobile while abusing Alchemer and Blitz charges could be pretty effective, with a knockback bomb packed in for good measure.

i wouldn´t recommend using an ele/norm armor for a pierce/shadow area.

and i´d never even think about bringing nitro to a party especially to an sl-run

radiant silvermail is the top armor for snarbi sl
ironmight plate shield will be the best shield as long as you don´t use swords (take BTS then), but aegis/honor will do their job aswell.
DBB might is a great bomb for the levels for obvious reasons
shock and stun are good crowd control effects (if there´s no swordie shiver might be the best choice)
i´d go for an ele-driver or polaris for UD-dmg. (some lumbers can be found there, too)
i don´t know callahan but would not use a pierce gun cuz they both seem quite immobile. DBB could do the job, otherwise leave wolvers to your party.

good luck!

edit:
and don´t forget the most important thing about shadow lairs...

DON´T PANIC! :P

Nitronome works if the party is willing to play defensively and turtle...I'm not much for the defensive approach, but I've seen it work successfully at Snarby.

I generally wear shadow armor and helm, with a piercing shield.
