Kay I was wondering about the steam mask and how to get it. The info about it says invite 5 steam friends to spiral knights to acquire the helm, but I was wondering did the 5 friends have to be people that don't already have spiral knights but are steam users, or can they just be normal steam friends you met on spiral knights.
The steam mask
The best way to get the mask is to do this:
1. Make sure that the setting under the prompts tab is checked for "Offer to invite Steam friends"
2. Make sure the steam friend is online
3. Start a clockworks run at depth 1
4. A box will pop up and show a list of steam friends that are online (this may be a list of only the friends that have not played SK, so #2 may not apply)
5. Put a check in the box next to each friend you want to invite
6. Press submit or whatever the correct response is for sending the invite
7. Probably best to contact your Steam friend and explain what you are trying to do. Explain that they only have to play until they reach haven, which should only take a few minutes. This also may have changed since the beginning of the game has changed from when I got my knight mask.
When each friend has played "long enough" you will receive a mail message from OOO stating something about a referral, and containing a mini mist tank. This happens for each steam friend, so it's not a bad way to get extra mist! After 5 messages of this sort, one for each referred friend that plays enough, you will get another message that contains the Steam Knight Mask.
Hope that helps! Good luck!
Like Wolfe-knight said, it's hard to find a great outfit to go with the knight mask (and it has clipping issues with the monster pockets, sorta overlaps the poor little fella), but it is, in my opinion, one of the coolest costume items I have seen so far. Plus it has the added benefit of causing people to ask you where you got it. It's also quite rare, I think.
@Wolfe-Knight, The Sinister Skelly and Dread Skelly Suits look drop dead gorgeous with the Steam Knight Mask, IMO. As for things that fit, most 4* armors (Ash Tail, Heavy Plate, Heavy Demo etc.) have the same color scheme.
You seem to be right, after a quick look through spiral spy I saw that the skelly armour looks quite good indeed, though I do think that ash tail looks the best.
Oatmonster, your right, I forgot about the skelly suit (sinister skelly in my case), it looks really good with the knight mask. It also looks good with the prismatic cake helm!
@Yvanblo, Only on low graphics. On high graphics, the foil becomes reflective.
You must invite 5 friends who have never played spiral knights before (you can check if they have by just going to their steam inventory and looking for spiral knights items). The mask looks cool enough but I could not find anything other than the basic cobalt armour and the fencing jacket to match it, though it is fun to just wear it around and let people ask you where you got it.
