Everyone who's been to rank 9-2 knows the Gauntlet level. You get some monitors showing what monsters you can expect, an arsenal station allowing you to change your gear and then the actual arena type section. I think that there should be some depth theme (arenas, treasure vaults etc.) based on these gauntlets as they test your loadout and actually make you think about what you need to equip. Obviously they would be easier than the Gauntlet level if they were in T1 or T2 but the idea would be the same.
More Gauntlet type Levels
Duh Sev, lower the cr output of the level. Maybe the same as a standard Arena level?
I agree though, Gauntlets would be fun for a lot of players. Probably not me, I'm likely to get my BTS handed to me ontop of my Coffin.

The last room should always match the stratum, leaving first 2 random if possible. Or should they have a predefined set?
Yeah...but how long did it take them to nerf the cr output of the Vana mission and The Gauntlet...
CE was at 9K CR first.

I didnae see this as a "another, better arena for heaps of cr" as much as I saw it as asking for a more interesting type arena. Current arenas are just the same things with increasing difficulty, but the Gauntlet tests loadouts and mixing skills. Having randomly set arenas like this would be much more fun/interesting, irrespective of cr output.
There is one custom arena map where there are little battlements between the rooms and each room has a unique layout.
I think it was a T2 mission. There were gremlins and constructs, freeze themed. Would play every day if I could remember which one it is, except I would get sick of it pretty quick if I did it every day on the same layout. Then again, they have that one gremlin/construct custom map where they just put indestructable blocks in some halls but the layout itself is the same. Maybe have something like that combined with Gauntlet where you can choose to go into one of three mystery rooms, each having an unpredictable setup (random family + fire/freeze/shock/poison/stun; stun is neutral, no curse theme) until you get in and the battle starts. After every room you get a loadout station, but how would you be able to enjoy your specialized weapons and equipment if you have no idea what awaits in whatever room you choose? Lemurs.
Actually, there are three such missions. They're the arena-type missions before the bosses. Those used to be regular arenas, but were changed into what you describe so as to nerf crown payout.
It'd be a great opportunity for newer players to earn a lot more crowns, but it'd also be a great opportunity for a really large crown inflation.
