If theres another thread about this, please link it to me :)

Heres something that I want to discuss, Is there any difference between the Divine Avenger and Gran Faust, other than the Damage Type and the Curse that the Gran Faust deals and their charge attacks?

What I really want to know its if their speed is the same or different. Ive heard a lot of people saying that their speed is different and stuff, and so I come here to discuss that.

I think that their speed is exactly the same, what do you guys know?

heavily discussed

This has been heavily discussed over multiple years. The speed bar on Gran Faust is inaccurate. Gran Faust is certainly not any faster than Divine Avenger. The Lancer Knightz sword data show that DA and GF are about the same speed in combos-per-minute, but DA is much faster in charges-per-minute.

Another difference is that the GF charge launches one projectile, while the DA charge launches three.

I know that the Speed bar is bugged on both the Gran Faust and the Divine Avenger, but ive seen a lot of people telling me that the DA is faster on second hit, and that the GF is faster on first hit. I guess they were wrong.

LK data aren't detailed enough, but I don't see a difference

The Lancer Knightz data don't measure individual sword strokes. All they measure about regular (non-charge) attacks is the complete combos-per-minute. They measure this particular facet, just because it's highly reproducible, because it requires no skill.

But you're right that it would be nice to have more detailed speed measurements, on individual strokes. I've done some study on that, for various swords, by using time stamps on video captures. Eventually I gave up that project, because it was too tedious, even for me.

For what it's worth, I have never noticed that GF is faster on the first swing. And I used those two swords exclusively for a few months last year. If there is any speed difference, it must be really small.
