Last year, I heard rumors of CE at super low prices, as in $15 per 10k CE cheap... Where is that this year? Has OOO really fallen so far, that at this point, they can't even give a minor sale to their many CE hungry consumers? If I sound greedy, that's because I am, but that's irrelevant. OOO Needs to please its' consumers with more than a bit of a promo like every minor holiday that hops along. Maybe it's just me, but I want a few opinions from the community. What do you guys think?

It was never THAT cheap. What they did last year was make the Explorer's Pack $3. It also came pretty late, so I wouldn't write off the possibility of a sale just yet.

The promotion will come in late. Probably because OOO has to deal with the promotion things like price, when to put it on, etc... Maybe the "Submit Promotion" button to Spiral knights doesn't work. Maybe the promotion can't be planned because they don't want the same thing over and over every year

If it made the players as happy as people say it did, and it sounded pretty awesome even with explorer pack on $3. I just hope it's a wider variety of packs this year.

Explorer pack at $3 again? Wow, you could get boxes at a less than $10 per 1 Winterfest box ratio! Nah, doesn't seem too likely.
So... what COULD they do? Could make Explorer Pack and Battle Pack $5 cheaper. Other than that, I don't see much wiggle room on this one.

They don't have to make promotion for everything. They already put a promo. 10$ = 1 red box and 1 winter box which is pretty decent...
OFC it's not the deal of the year but I'd rather have this over nothing
Plus I got myself a nice Crown of the Winter in those red box... so... I'm happy :D

Maybe one of the purely CE packs? 20k CE for $35, as opposed to $50? 45k for $70 as opposed to $100? Maybe cut the prices by 20-30%. After all, it costs them nothing to give out CE.

But all the packs come with the boxes. If they discounted the CE pack, then it would therefor bring up the winterfest box per dollar ratio. Doesn't seem like something they would do, but I could always be wrong.
For example, if they did discount the $100 package to $70, that would make it $7 per Wintertest box. But hey, it's Christmas. Maybe they will be feeling generous.
EDIT: Basically every pack above $9.95 comes with winterfest boxes and I don't see a sale on Winterfest boxes happening. It might make people who spent money to get them now rather upset.

As others have said, I think 80% off Explorer Packs was a one time event, which will never happen again.
I think the prize boxes could be the only Christmas promotion, but perhaps they will add something when the Steam holiday sale begins. Maybe another Spiral Knights achievement?
