I cannot launch spiral knights after signing in with steam from the main site. I click the play button and nothing happens. A bit stumped here. I'm using a new computer and my account is bound to steam.

If your account is a steam one, the play button will instead go to the link to play it from steam, so you'll have to have steam installed.
If you still want to use the browser version you can log out, press the play button, and when it starts up pick 'Login with Facebook' and then log in to the website using Steam.
But, that won't work if it's a converted Steam account.
Try launching from steam?
Did you install steam? And if you did, did you reinstall sk through steam. If you didn't install sk through steam, you can't launch from the website :P
Edit : You said this was a new computer, so im guessing you dont have steam and/or spiral knights on steam. Wow i'm terrific at missing information.
