I recently obtained Operation crimson hammer and got my hands on the tier 1 hammer.

As far as I can tell so far the mechanics are exactly the same between the three hammer tiers (having obtained the tier 2 hammer as well now) the reason

I wanted to clarify this fact because I plan to take the tier 1 hammer on Clockwork runs JUST for the mobility.

From my own observations so far (not officially tested) the time taken to do the dash and recover will result in other party members to overtake me.

Now based on the assumption that I will swing twice and shield cancel to repeat the dash again, Will attack speed increase help improve the mobility of the weapon?

I'll eat anyone's shoes who debates I should take the t3 hammer instead, that's not what this thread is asking.

unclear

I'm not totally clear on what you're asking. For maximum mobility, you definitely do not want to use the last swing of the combo; there is a big recovery period. Instead, you want to shield-cancel after the dash. You probably know this.

You seem to be asking also whether ASI affects the mobility? Yes, I think so. ASI speeds up your swing-dash-cancel, and so lets you complete this maneuver faster. I have done this as many as 48 times in a minute, at ASI+6. How fast can you do it at ASI+0, or whatever ASI you have?

it's not really faster than walking if that's what you mean.

sorry for being unclear

I'm attempting to hammer dash instead of walking to get from point A to B faster and I believe increasing my ASI will improve this mobility.

I came back with 40 dashes per min with ASI 0
but i can't get an accurate result for ASI 4
I got 36 per 50 seconds with ASI 4.

@flowchart but is it still faster?

no

I tested it, at ASI 0, walking is faster. Still need to test it with ASI 6.

I have kept up with people at ASI+4

I think that I have kept up with people running, when I was doing WRH dashes at ASI+4. (My teammates had never seen such a thing, and were flabbergasted. It was great fun for everyone.) But this was not a serious test. Let us know what you find out.

I'll see...

...if I can get a test subject today. Will post results if nobody finds them before me. Just remembered, I can only get ASI 5 (Swifty + Vog Cap).

Funny toughts. What about running with Mercurial vs WRH. Wich is ultimately better?
Would Mercurial make you dash faster?

The swing and dash puts you

The swing and dash puts you about level with somebody running if you have decent ASI, I'd say Medium or better. Honestly in my opinion it is not worth trying to dash instead of run, a single miss click and you get to be left behind a bit.

Yes ASI helps greatly as it is a heavy sword. If you use it in LD the dash is used more often as a way to dodge after hitting then to actually hit your target. In the Clockworks you'll probably come to like the dash if you get good with the Hammer, its destructive capabilities are beautiful on most Undead and Constructs (Mecha-Knights hurt) and the occasional Fiend.

Heavy Weapon

Its a heavy weapon, and therefore it moves slower than lets say a flourish. Great weapon though :D
