Lol no. The Kat has a chance to drop a book to.
You bring that book to the koncuring Kat and let's you fight a boss that drops a hat.
The boss that you fight drops a different Kat hat called the black Kat cowl.
I think it gives movement speed bound and asi

@Hexzyle That was my point - we already have a bunch of armour and hats that give gun ASI bonuses, and they're all better than the new kat stuff. Nameless and Justifier sets? Medium ASI per piece, no status weaknesses. Deadshot? ASI low, undead medium, and no status weaknesses. Seerus mask? ASI low and CTR medium.
The kat helmet? ASI low, damage low, freeze resist and two weaknesses, one of which is shock. Least useful gunslinger hat so far.

The 5* Kat Hats give a low gun damage and low asi, making it more ideal than deadshot to be used on fiends.
The 3 and 4 star helmets are a good alternative to piercing as a player's first gunner helm.
They're not duplicate crap, they're useful alternatives.

Now compare all that with sword and bomber gear. Gunners have it easy.

@Hexzyle They're not duplicates, no, but they're also not as good as the gear we've already got. Hence, costumes.
@Juances Yes, gunslingers have access to multiple ASI sets. When ASI is the least useful bonus for guns. CTR? One helmet, total. Damage? One set, total. Swordies, on the other hand, have the Barbarous Thorn Shield as well as two damage sets and one ASI set...although I admit bombers are pretty much screwed.

Crafting costs for the masks
Basically, the 3* versions come at a price of 50 tokens apiece.
After that, you need the 4* material Kat Tribe Fetish to craft the 4* and 5* versions (1 for the 4* and 2 for the 5*), which makes it a total of 200 tokens for a 5* mask, in addition to appropriate quantities of Dark Shards, Brimstone, Frayed Fabric, Bushy Tails, and Primal Ore, and standard CE and cr costs.
