As I discussed in an earlier thread, almost every single weapon line has an unbalanced weapon along with a good one. Here are the good weapons in a some lines, along with their unbalanced counterpart. The better weapons are on the left, and the unbalanced ones are on the right.

Leviathan- : Cold Iron Vanquisher

Brandish- : Cautery sword

Dread Venom Striker- : Wild Hunting blade

Final Flourish- : Fearless Rigadoon/Furious Flamberge

Plague Needle/Blitz Needle- : Volcanic Pepperbox

Biohazard- : Neutralizer

Callahan : Iron Slug

Polaris : Supernova

Nitronome : Big Angry Bomb, Irontech Destroyer, Heavy Deconstructor

N/A : Deadly Dark Matter Bomb, Shocking Salt Bomb, Deadly Crystal Bomb, Deadly Shard Bomb, Deadly Splinter Bomb, Scintillating Sun Shards

18 unbalanced weapons right there. And these are just the WEAPONS, mind you. There are many more unbalanced pieces of armor and shields.

Do you think every item listed is unbalanced and needs a buff desperately? Do you think other weapons need to become more balanced?

Yes, I know that there are those on the opposite side of the spectrum that need to be balanced (Skolver, Polaris, FF) but the discussion is about unbalanced weapons that need a buff, not a nerf.

Look at the attack cancellation on DVS. Then look at the attack cancellation on WHB.
One of these weapons will get you killed if you try to use the charge on gremlins, and one will not.
Oh, and also, Winmillion.

No.

CIV is not underpowered. If you think it is, you need to read this: http://tinyurl.com/LeviVSCiv
Cautery sword ends at 3*, so whatever. I'd like to see some split Elemental/Shadow without any Normal on it though.
WHB isn't really worse than DVS. Unlike DVS, WHB has a useful charge, somewhat greater range on the ghost strikes, and is the coolest weapon in the game.
FF vs the other two, I agree. The chance is too small for the statuses to be useful. Especially considering the fact that FF is a woopwooppewpewdead weapon.
VPB is underpowered? Wh- ju- ho- why? Does your precious Blitz oneshot the fudge out of constructs? Or does it kill the Roarmulous Twins faster than DA charges? Does it kick Jell-o butt? No? Didn't think so. Plague Needle, on the other hand, is honestly quite worthless.
Same with Bio. Neutralizer can be used against the undead, most notably, which is awesome. Especially considering that one place where they come in dozens. Ever tried loading up some Neutralizer charges, thrown an EV and then poofed it? Yeah, you probably haven't because you wouldn't have said that otherwise
I can't quite know about Callahan. Iron Slug isn't that strong but it's quite the cool niche weapon.
Agaaaain, stop saying specialised is better. Did you, for example, know that Supernova is better at crowd control AND has better damage vs everything but Constructs and Undead?
As for the Blast Bombs, why the fudge would you compare a 5* bomb to a 4* one? Also, you obviously haven't seen Zeddy's research if you think Irontech is bad. It's good. Very good.
Shard bombs are very skill dependant. Also combo dependant. The only two of those that aren't really useful are Deadly Splinter Bomb and Deadly Dark Matter Bomb because the other ones with the same damage kind offer some damage for a sick bonus and even sicker statuses.

END OF RANT.

In Lockdown? Yes. Absolutely. Mostly.

In Clockworks? Situationally.
-CIV is better than Levi against undead provided you do not exceed +3 damage on the sword coming from other places. It makes it a nice sidearm for non-swordsknights, or for swordsknights using Vog/Fallen/Kat Claw Cowl and similar. Being specialised against undead is not as bad as it may sound as there are at least 6 endgame missions containing undead: Gauntlet, Firestorm, Legion, GitM, SLGWW and SL Firestorm, not mentioning the occasional thing involving elusive black kats.

-I dunno' what's up with Cautery. Specifically for RJP, it's better than nightblade at taking out Silkwings and better than elemental brandishes at taking out slimes (not taking statuses into account.) Not really a sword kind of guy and I haven't really tried it.

-WHB has insane interruption on the charge as well as longer reach, like Krakob mentioned. What happened to people hating poison?

-I see some smartypants bring Rigadoon and Flamberge to Lockdown and they swear by it. Has someone done tests on how many hits a Flamberge would need vs a Flourish to kill someone there? It could be the difference isn't even one hit but it could also be it is one hit and which one it is kind of decides a lot here.

-NOPE. Can't interrupt/murder gun puppies in one charge with Blitz. I would never use the normal attack on Blitz for anything but pepperbox' will set things on fire which is very useful if you're, say, soloing FSC in 0* armour using nothing but a pepperbox and need to kill some Trojans safely. Pepperbox has the knockback, which makes it very defensive and helps with soloing as much as with teamwork. It's great to combine forces with Blitzers: Blitzers do damage while my Pepperbox pushes the enemy out of omnomnom range. Yes I'm aware that a max damage blitzer can just one-shot everything at point blank and somehow that's apparently possible to do in every tough encounter in the game? In rooms filled with fire grates and spikes?

-I don't think Biohazard is worth much. Gremlins are hard to hit with it so you should only get it if you really, really hate slimes. Bio is the underpowered one, really.

-Callahan cannot interrupt most turrets where Iron Slug can.

-I've had Polaris' shock screw me over at times when trying to push back in a crowd, shocking the lot of them and ending up stuck between them where they'd kill me. Supernova won't do this to you. It's reliable.

-Big Angry and Irontech are slower but more powerful. In Big Angry you get insane knockback while in Irontech you get higher DPS. Decon is a dead-end weapon like Cautery not much to say there.

I'm with you 100% if this was only about Lockdown.

Arrgh!

Oh dear! I did forget to mention this was mostly about lockdown, for the balancing aspect. Actually though, biohazards are not just for slimes. They are awesome for construct arenas. Seriously, 6 charges into the mob of mechas pursuing you and ignition really harms them as well as poisons them. All in all, it is not just for slimes.
