So i ended up crafting a medium CTR autogun and i was suddenly faced with the reality that i might finally have to make a Blitz Needle. I don't know of anyone else that runs without a Blitz/Plague Needle, so it seems that inevitably, i'll be forced to make one.

But before i do, i was curious to see if there are any other guns that are even moderately effective for soloing FSC.

I usually solo Vana with any of the three guns i own: the Silversix, the Nova Driver and the Master Blaster.

I tend to think of the Silversix as being the best of the three for the task, followed by the Nova Driver, but truth be told, they're all equally effective (or ineffective, depending on how you view it). Because of their mobility, i can solo without taking much if any damage. The downside is, that it takes a long, long time to kill Vana. Anywhere between 10-20 minutes.

One gun that i've always been particularly interested in is the Iron Slug. Though i have absolutely no idea if it's any good against Vana and the lack of mobility worries me some. The Biohazard and Hail Driver are two other guns i'm curious about.

So if you've had any kind of luck soloing Vana with a fairly nonstandard gun, please let me know and if possible, include the amount of damage your gun does. (I use my levi for the mask phase, so please include the damage your gun does during the non-mask phase).

My Volcanic Pepperbox does around ~100 for each of the charged shots, of which there are 15. It's honestly not that much slower than Blitz. Pepperbox is also stronger than Blitz against the Royal Jelly and Roarmulus.

I've duoed Vana with just Polaris so honestly any gun should do fine. Callahan would do better than Iron Slug due to piercing damage, but I am never one to ask a man to shy away from The Slug. Just be aware that in addition to reduced mobility, your damage over time is probably lower as well. Magnus is a sniper rifle or a utility interruptor, not a close-quarters dps gun.

Whatever you decide, it should be hard to do it slower than beating him bombs-only, which I've done a couple of times.

Callahan!

Iron Slug doesn't deal enough damage to be fesible, but i brought a callahan to UFSC. It is more moblie than Blitz though it will only help you beat vana a bit faster. dealing about 270 damage with minimal damage bonuses. The stun slows down vana to half speed and keeps him occupied while you kill some slags.

agree

I've soloed Vanaduke with all of these: Blitz Needle, Callahan, Nova Driver, Storm Driver, Hail Driver, Polaris, Argent Peacemaker. Compared to Blitz, the others are all fairly slow. But mobility is nice, and a status such as shock can help.

I've heard (but cannot verify) that Vanaduke is extremely resistant to shadow damage. So Biohazard is not a good idea?

I seem to recall that Vanaduke's last stage is entirely immune to shadow damage. Can't remember the exact source, though.

Biohazard is not a great choice for FSC runs. I find it useful to pack a shadow gun for dealing with the Oilers and Blast Cubes, which tends to be my Sentenza since that has small bullets that can shoot between the gaps to take down wheels as well. It's not an optimal weapon, though. Neutralizer would be a better choice if you want to blow up lots of slags, but given that its bullets are fairly slow it isn't an optimal choice against Vanaduke himself, and a Valiance would probably fare better in that situation.

Looking at the situation, I would say that you would probably be best off with one of the status drivers, Storm or Hail, if you're going solo. Both statuses will help to prevent some of Vanaduke's attacks, and will make your life rather easier. The Callahan would be a reasonable second choice, too. Autogun would be fairly risky to use, if you're not used to it, but the status of Hail and Storm will help to set your enemies up for a safer Blitz charge.

yes, Vanaduke is indeed

yes, Vanaduke is indeed TOTALLY IMMUNE to all shadow damage in his final phase (The purple "sparks" appear). I tested with biohazard. Up until that point, however, it's very useful, if slow.
