I've taken interest to gunning and lockdown, and I've done pretty good with Alchemers, but using the same thing over and over again is boring, so I've decided to make a new set with Polaris +AP+ Valiance and Valiance+Callahan. But I seem to use Valiance really badly, and I could use a few tips. Thanks.

You could use Valiance or any

You could use Valiance or any gun to interrupt sword combos or charges.

Also don't use AT because you need to stand still to use it.

What about AP? Guess I shouldn't use it in my set (wish we could change AT for different weapons)

2 shots

With Valiance's 3-shot clip, you can quickly spread-fire two shots at full speed to block off possibly movements before they happen.

So instead of aiming directly towards the target (at first), you surround their choices with a 'cone'.

Of course, after you get the first 1-2 hits in and their movement gets interrupted, then you can go wild with your own choice of attack.

Also, autotarget with mobile guns is stupid for two reasons:
- You have to stand still for autotarget to work (so walking+shooting --> disables autotarget anyway)
- Autotarget only aims at where they ARE when you click. That means if the target is say, strafing, it will miss because it doesn't take into account bullet speed nor latency - both of which are important if you want to be able to deal with strikers dashing around you @_@

Fire two shots for valiance.

Fire two shots for valiance. Spread out the shots so it's more likely someone will run into the bullets.

For AP, it's a very interesting difference. Dash away from the enemy, don't move too much and fire most of the bullets (not all), then dash away when the enemy gets near you again.

Oh, and you can turn AT on and off by simply holding shift. I use it when I'm firing callahan.

Edit: >.< seiran, y u post faster than me before I can finish typing .-.

@Seiran

My technique of AP is to shock the person or prevent him from running away, and when I do that, I stand still.

Defensive

Use it for defensive (knockback and stuff) in pvp due to its lack of damage

Knockback and long rang'n stuff

Valiance is one of the few guns that has knock back. Tho it is very small knock back you can use it long rang for well, keeping monsters away from you.

For Callahan, go recon and equip Mask of Seerus / a piece of Chaos. Find a hiding place south of a capture point and get sniping.

Happy hunting!

You could also equip a full set of CTR-reducery and go as a striker. When you stun your target by sniping them, dash in for the kill.

V for Valiance

Jellies: 2 shots, shield & move, 2 shots shield & move.. rinse and repeat.
Zombie: Fire only first shot, wait, fire only first shot, wait. and see how a zombie does the moonwalk standing in one place.
Multiple zombies: Never stop moving, 2 shots, move, 2 shots, rinse and repeat.
Wolvers: Don't
Greavers: 1 shot, shield twice & move backwards & shield again, 1 shot, shield twice & move backwards & shield again. rinse and repeat
Mecha Knights: 2 shots, pause while they shield or move to suitable position, preferably away from them, 2 shots.. when they ready charge attack while running at you, shield bump/up whilst moving backwards., rinse and repeat. (never get cornered)
Lumbers: Run in circles around them, 2 shots, 2 shots . etc.. The occasional charge attack pushing lumbers away when you are in a tight space.
Devilites: If you really have to.. Spread 2 shots, circling/moving, spread 2 shots, circling/ moving. rinse and repeat
Gremlins: 2 shots, shield, 2 shots, shield (shielding is for those annoying hammer throws/bomb throws). when thwacker does his 2 hit combo, move move and shield.. rinse and repeat.
Gunpuppies/polyps: 2 shots (3 if you are a good dodger), move between bullets/ circle. etc..
Kats: 2 shots, run almost direcly at them while they speed towards you, doing the ghost dance, dodge bullets, rinse and repeat.

Well, this goes for most 3 bullet guns, just with Valiance you can kite at a slower pace, and push back those Lumbers when you are in a tight space. Perpare for longer battles and be patient, damage is ok-ish but nothing spectacular. Aiming is easy, general direction will do.

NB: Remeber to spin around at most spectacular times in the heat of battle to make it look like its a piece of cake and extra awesomness points.

... I used to take my Valiance to FSC all the time, one day, just as we started, one of the party members commented "Valiance is the worst gun ever". From that day I vowed to never die when I have Valiance equiped.

Lockdown: What is that???
