I'm trying to come up with bomber combos in LD so your input will be much appreciated! Here are my current 2 combos:
1) Nitrome + Stagger Storm. Stun them first then blast their sorry butts to oblivion
2) Electron Vortex + Voltaic Tempest. Shock them first then suck them in towards an inescapable vacuum of death.
I like DBB+VT/SS with Bombastic recon.
@Vincent-Tj, That doesn't sound like bombing, that sounds like you not being able to hit someone with a sword without them being locked into place.
I'd suggest VT and an AoA.
They are staying in both circles and helplessly taking damage. Fail. Turn off Cull Transients.
I prefer more weapon slot for bomber. The choices are too small.
going full bombing is stupid(or not thinking with logic)....... can you imagine you must charge when a striker ambushes you with guns / sword?.........just imagine when you only have bombs and a striker gunner shoots at you...... when you place the bombs on them, they'll dash away.And you cant win against them in that way...... Trying to chase someone with bombs is stupid. Dropping bombs into the paths of people knocked back by your previous bombs is strategic. Freezing someone and then using a Brandish charge is not bombing.

@Vincent-TJ's first suggestion - A Dread Venom Striker would probably work better paired with a Voltaic Tempest, since then you'll get more hits in against the victim. Even with stun, a lot of the sword's combo would get eaten up by mercy invincibility, which isn't a problem when your target is convulsing from shock. Pairing the SS with a Voltaic would make it a lot easier to catch up to them to deliver the blows, however.
And I wouldn't keep AA on for a DVS combo, unless you're certain you can get a fast kill. Try to circle around the target as you use the attack combo, so that it's harder for them to aim their counter-attacks.
My favorite combination for playing defensively (read: camping points) in LD is Nitronome/Voltaic/Venom Veiler. I spam the mist bombs on the points, or on major intersections of the map, most of the time - shock either scares people away or leaves them wide open to a counter-attack from me or a teammate, and poison significantly weakens its victims so that I can withstand their attacks against me. I'll drop a Nitronome if I think I can catch an opponent in the blast, or if I'm trying to shoo away an enemy Guardian who's on the point I want to control.
I think you should play as recon if you go bomb, and its a little bad idea doing full bomb or full guns in LD, so my choice is sword and bombs as following: (If i were 5 star, and im not that far yet)
1. Dread V striker + Stagger storm = Stun them and rage DVS Using AA*(If you are good at aiming then no need AA)
2. Shivermist + Troika++ ORI (The stun line, 5 *) = Freeze them and charge them without any mercy
3. Shivermist + Voltededge/ other brandish/cali line A.K.A Leviathan = Similar to above, Freeze them and shock them with deadly charge
Thats all. :P
