Hey there! Styrka here.
So, in my adventuring and studies of Spiral Knights, I've come across the catalyzer guns and love them! They have the fastest charge in the game, can clear out entire rooms after a bit of set up, and is utterly fun.
But, the big issue I find with it is that A) the bullets are as slow as honey and B) The charge, while fast, still can take a while to get onto enough enemies to cause that blissful, single shot endgame.
So, as I near 5 star gunner equipment, I can't help but wonder a few things:
1 - At level 10 heat, can the charge time of a catalyzer be reduced even further? (It's at 1 second at level 10 heat -- I'm wondering if that's a max)
2 - Is it WORTH reducing, or would be getting very high damage overall from full shadow sun be more beneficial making me use less charges to blow everything up in the first place?
This is purely concerning the mechanics of the catalyzer and not the application itself!
Thanks so much,
-Styrka
CTR on catalyzers does make a difference in terms of your 'fire rate' since it lets you shoot charges quicker. Of course, a combination of ASI and CTR work together as well (ASI quickens your post-shot animation delay).
Also, chaos set? :V
