Title.

People played, people grinded, people bought elevator passes, all for the wrong reasons. It wasn't fun. It wasn't entertaining. It was dreadful.

Just throwing this out there because certain things made me have some worries.

On a positive note...

The Clockworks Arcade was active again. Candlestick Keep garnered some much-needed popularity. People supported OOO by buying Elevator Passes. Some players were entertained by the speed-running.

Some things were done right, some things were done wrong. If the next event repeats what was done right without redoing what was done wrong, we'll have some fantastic fun.

This game is grinding based

This game is grinding based anyways, and the event was mainly for making people buy elevator passes so OOO gets money.....because that's like how all gaming companies make money.....make new event, kinda force them to buy stuff to make it less tedious or easier

Exactly; the CW's were played again, but like I said, for the wrong reasons. When it came to the book (curse that bloody thing), it was a nigh-endless cycle of getting your hopes up, having them shot down, and retrying. I don't know anyone who enjoyed it past 100 pages... but yes, it was a good way for OOO to get money via e-passes. I'd rather have a new set of levels or a certainty I'd fight new enemies as opposed to doing the same thing I've done for months with a 1% chance to have a new enemy spawn and a 1% chance tacked on to that for access to yet another new enemy.

I will admit that the Margrel fight was extremely fun, but that almost makes it worse, because of how rare the book is. It's kind of like what they did with Shadow Lairs, except if you had no guarantee you'd be able to play them.

Candlestick keep didn't get popularity. It reminded people why they didn't like it in the first place. And free to play games "kinda forcing" players to buy content? That's bad game design. coughcoughdeadspacethreecoughcoughdiablothreecoughcough

Why not make them replace

Why not make them replace slags instead, a caravan can replace a regular slag and they can drop the tokens and book, FSC grinding is already all over the place, why not make it happen? But i hope OOO won't decide to make us go grinding again.

Well, OOO needs money more than any time. Actually, I can't see how they will make more content without funds to do that, really. And I don't want to be a jerk here, but I think that the reason behind this thread is that you didn't get the book, not that you disliked the grinding idea in the first place. In fact, grinding was enjoyable, yet tiring for me. "I know, you want to kill me." Just a humble opinion from a humble player.

Should we remove anniversary and DH?

I mean, they're both grinders.

TBH, Dragneel, for 2/3 years, grinding is what we've done.

It gets boring.

And I didn't care for the Book, but the grind is not fun.

Those levels, unlike Tunnels, it's annoying to grind, and there is missions that you do instead. I mean, DH and Anniversary, you couldn't find nests in missions.

Interesting thing. During the 1 week aniversary, I spent 4/5 straight days grinding nests. Similar things happened to others.

@Dragneel I understand your

@Dragneel I understand your skepticism, so here's proof I have a cowl.

It took me 495 pages to get that, which is 159 Kats, over the course of several hours of mental torture.

The only fun I had past 100 was when I finally got that book, so I could say 'I never need to do this again'.

@Softhead Winterfest was annoyingly grindy, but it was an entirely new 'minigame'. I enjoyed it the first few times, but it got old fast, since nothing ever changed. As for Punkin hunting, that was a lot more enjoyable (in relation to the BK event), mostly because you had a much larger chance to find the darn thing.

Because grinding is the last thing this game needs. Nothing more to add that hasn't already been mentioned.

I thought it was obvious

Because MORE grinding is the last thing this game needs.

Happy?
