I'm just about wondering. I've already selected my sword, But I'm wondering which gun or bomb should I get for my gears.
Should you be able to reply to this topic, Thank you for your help :)
Which Gun/Bomb for the Spiral Plate gears?
I chooses Spiral Plate, Because I wanted to show the monsters a little weights, if you know what I mean, And also, I feel kinda pumped in it. Also, The sword I picked is the Troika. And I mostly play solo, But sometime, I'll play in a party, Whatever I need to.
See to it that the gun/bomb you would recommend show a little "weights," too.
Thank you for your reply, though. :)
Venom Veiler. Combined with the high defence of plate armours, you'll be able to take very low damage from enemies.
Since your damage output will be relatively low, you will also need Venom Veiler when there are healers nearby.
Another alternative is either Volcanic Pepperbox or Iron Slug. The former is incredibly powerful, but the latter is kind of fun and definitely fills your "weight" requirement, in that it's clunky and hard to use. Correctly used, you'll be able to make gremlins to backflips, interrupt a whole lot of enemies (I mainly interrupt slimes and turrets), and snipe things at a (relative) distance with the charge attack.
You have not chosen an easy path. You have not chosen an efficient path. You have, however, chosen an awesome path. Care to join a guild? Shard Squad is always looking for plate-mail wearing troika-swingers.
I HIGHLY recommend you to join Shard Squad for help with uncommon gear like yours
Shard Squad, Grittle Seal of Approval (GSA)
I'm too used to CTR. I wouldn't recommend bombs without UVs or Volcanic Demo.
Thank for the weapon choice, But Zeddy, The Spiral Plate gears is a 2-star. So I'm sticking with the Toxic Vaporizer, thank for the choice, though!
And thank for the offer on the guild, But I'm a 2-star, SO I might be bad if the guild does lockdown.
Poke-Rock, in case it's not clear, we all know that you're talking about 2-star gear. But the people on this forum almost always talk about 5-star items. Why? Because you should always plan in terms of 5-star gear, because that's where everything ends up (unless you're making a set specifically for Tier 2 Lockdown). You don't want to pick nice 2- and 3-star items, only to learn later that they can't be upgraded, or that they upgrade to bad 5-star items.
So read the wiki, ask questions, and get advice about 5-star items. Once you've chosen some 5-star items, look back in their alchemy paths, to figure out which 2- and 3-star items lead to them. And be patient.
Dont worry, its not a Pure LD guild.
All right then, I'll see that The 5-star gears of the Spiral Plates is good for me.
Thank for the advice, Bopp.
I guess the 5-star Plate set I would chose is... Volcanic Plate Set, even though I could sleep sometime.
But I wanna make sure I'm good for it. Could you guys tell me which enemy or boss is it good for?
Thank you and I hope you have a good game.
There is no sleep in the game, currently. So don't worry about getting slept by monsters.
Among the Plate sets, Volcanic is a good choice. When you get farther into the game, you'll spend a lot of time in Firestorm Citadel. And Volcanic Plate protects against exactly the threats that you find there. It's too bad that it slows down your attacks, though. Your Sudaruska/Triglav, if you keep using it, is going to be *slow*.
Just because it's slow, I don't think that it's weak.
Having less speeds, will be worth it in power.
Not really, fast attacks hit first and interrupt yours, so you'll never unleash that great power you have.
Will work on some monsters, but you'll suffer against fiends or other players in LD.
Just in case, you should get some ASI trinkets/ UVs
Man, I gotta agree with that. But, I'll think of something.
I got a little confused with Grittle's comment, But, that's a good idea.
Volcanic Plate is pretty much the better between the two, yes. Fire and elemental threats are everywhere, while Ironmight doesn't even have a second status in addition to stun and enemies doing piercing tend to not be very threatening.
Sleep hasn't been in the game for somewhere in the area of two years, so I wouldn't base too much of your gear decisions on how resistant armours are to it. Stun, on the other hand, is found in a lot of places.
Volcanic Plate is good for Lord Vanaduke, considered to be the final boss. His mace deals a hefty amount of normal damage, stun and fire, exactly what Volcanic Plate protects against. There are also fire tiles there dealing elemental damage. Basically, when you see any piece of armour named "Volcanic", it's meant for Firestorm.
Bopp's also right that wearing full plate while using a Troika is slow. You already knew that, of course, since you're already doing that. In Tier 3 that means you'll have to play very defensively and time your attacks carefully.
And Shard Squad is not even a remotely Lockdown-oriented guild. Lots of our members joined us when they were 2* (this technically includes both of the guild's founders), and some of them still are.
Enemy attacks are fairly repetitive, and you can see red lines (normal damage), yellow (piercing), purple (shadow) and green (elemental). Most enemies only have one or two attacks so if you memorize them, you can be prepared for the attacks. The second you see the lines, lift your shield up if you can't get out of the way fast. Just after they attack, (unless the particular enemy has another attack combo straight after) swing your troika line to knock them out of your way, giving you an opening to shoot them with your gun. Charging up bombs before you get into an enemy populated area will also help a lot.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: I would totally recommend joining Shard Squad like I did. It's a lot more fun using hipster weapons with likeminded people who are always happy to chat and help you, than some other typical LD guild.
Thank you all for your help on weapon choices! I'll get these gear and be prepared for Vanaduke!
And Zeddy, I'll think about your guild's offer.
It might help us if you explained why you've chosen Spiral Plate. Also, tell us your sword. If we're going to recommend a gun, knowing your sword would help, because they should be coordinated. If you're interested in a bomb, then tell us whether you mainly play solo, in random parties, or in known parties.
