So its been a while since ive seen some hard new content. All i have seen is LD maps and the occasional new danger mode mission. But none of these things change the way the game is played much at all imo. You get a party and beat things down. Repeat.
I just want to see more variety because currently what we have are
Sworders - (GF,DA,Brandishes)
Gunners - (Alchemers, AP, Setenza,occasional callahan, polaris)
Bombers - (they actually have a nice variety)
Anyway i want to see something new. So here are some ideas that i thought of.
New Concept: Shieldless - If we could put something else in that hand wouldnt this game have a Whole lot more options. Would create more party play such as support classes and the like
***(on a side note 90% of the time i dont even use my shield to block. I tap my shield key to push enemies away and reposition myself)
New weapon Class:
1) Bow/Arrow - how it would work: Fires long range projectile that pierces through all targets. Holding the mouse button causes you to pull back on the bow and distance projectile fires is based on how long mouse was depressed.
- Can also add statuses like arrow that burns/freezes/shocks.
2) Dagger - melee weapon: attacks about as fast as a DVS Charge attack: Enhanced auto attacks (critical hits for a short duration critical hits do 200% damage)
- New concept - Critical hits
3)*** If we are going to have an empty hand why not put something in it!
Duel wield- Can hold 2 of a particular weapon type
Swords - the number of attacks in your combo is equal to the number of total swings available. The time it takes to execute the combo is equal to the average time it takes to do the combo with each individual weapon. Charge attack incorperates both weapons charge attacks.
Guns - well now u have twice the ammo. and each gun is treated seperately. Think about something like valiance in 1 hand for the knockback and a alchemer in the other hand for the damage.
Bombs - no duel wield for u. Instead u get detonaters? :o example. Bombs become stackable. U can place 3 blast bombs in a spot and then blow them all up. Bombs are destroyed upon death
4) Magic?- What if like the medic gremlins we had some form of healing skill. Or even a healing bomb for allies. Since bombs work as a form of AoE ability a healing bomb would create a support role for the team and and interesting party option.
5) While were at it. Shield Buff! - Shields have some effect when made in contact with besides blocking. For example some shields can add status like freeze or burn or stun upon contact OR shields can even do damage (crazy battering ram) with spikes. So that ur not just helplessly blocking.
Well thats all for now.
I just want to see the game grow. And i feel its at a stand still.
I really like the bow and arrow idea though. and its something i would like to see implemented. If anything else catches ur eye please say something ^^
Bow and Arrow - First off, you need 2 hands to hold a shield, and it looks more like an overpowered gimmick weapon if anything.
Shieldless/Dual/2h - Suggested and shot down so many times, Vanaduke has less holes in him from Blitz Needles.
Dagger - Cutter revamp and we're good.
