Arcade empty? Missions completed too fast? Hmm!

Someone else may have suggested this before, so I cannot take credit for all the ideas in this post. When you have a mission, suppose that you were required to delve into the Clockworks to accomplish it. For example:

Suppose you are assigned "Skies Under Cradle," which is an Aurora Isles mission. Kora will tell you which gate and depth it is located in, and the player is to go there. But here's the catch: it may not be in rotation yet, as per normal Clockworks functionality. So you may have to wait sometimes. This will make the players experience the Clockworks the way it was meant to be.

I had an idea about the supply delivery missions, too: taking cues from the Winterfest event, when you purchase a supply pack and start the mission, the pack is placed on your back, and you must travel through the Clockworks to deliver it. The catch is that these packs slow you down. Compact, Standard, and Deluxe supply packs slow you by -1, -2, and -3 MSD each, respectively, and some missions will require you to carry up to two packs at a time.

Opinions?

"Kora will tell you which gate and depth it is located in, and the player is to go there"

Missions have a fixed depth, to make the difficulty linear. And for that you'd also need players to deposit the right minerals on the right strats. It could take a lot of time to get what you need.

that was my idea.

someone else (don't remeber who) posted a better one: on mission, instead of starting at the mission stratum, you start at depth 0, moorcroft manor or emberlight, then go normally until the mission levels.

Four gates!

@Little-Juances: those difficulties are kinda the point. Yes, I want the depths fixed, like they currently are. That's fine. However, regarding the difficulty you mentioned, Kora will try to find a gate that has the mission in question. If no such gates have it, the mission dialogue will tell you that the mission is presently unavailable. If you want to ensure its availability, you'll have to use your minerals. Yay! We finally have a use for them! Why are you talking about it like that's a bad thing? Yes, completing the missions could take a lot of time, but...isn't that also a good thing? It'll give players an excuse to explore the Clockworks on their own (namely, money). As an economic side effect, it should also bring down the CE price, since the high-paying levels aren't as readily available.

One problem that some people noted last time is the existence of unique levels, like The Gauntlet, The Silent Legion, and such like. For these missions, we could use the current mission system. It would make sense for a few of them; for Faith in Armor, I can believe that the knights would have a whole separate elevator for it. But others, like The Silent Legion, make more sense as Clockworks levels (since, for this one, we have to "find" Arkus).

Okay. Kudos for coming up with it first.
