Honestly? I wouldn't know what "Hipster" was if he punched me in the face. So what is considered "Hipster"? And is my loadout hipster?

Helm: Divine Veil

Armour: Volcanic Plate Mail

Primary Weapon: Cold Iron Vanquisher

Secondary Weapon: Silversix/Blackhawk

Shield: Volcanic Plate Shield.

DISCLAIMER: I am not afraid of being hipster or mainstream.

misnomer

Hipsters are into unusual things, that demonstrate that they have interesting and refined tastes. In the Spiral Knights community, people often use "hipster" to mean "bad". But real hipsters go for good unusual things, not bad unusual things.

Argent/Sentenza is the opposite of hipster. CIV is hipster in the sense of bad. The rest of your gear is fairly hipster, in that it's an interesting, unusual combination.

Proper Hipster gear is stuff that isn't used much but still a viable choice, such as the catalyzer lines or the status lines of the autogun.
As for your loadout, the only really hipster gear is the plate mail/shield. The sword is just crap and the divine veil and antigua lines are common

Thanks for the definition and clarification. That sort of loadout was born for two reasons: Firstly because I despise Gremlins (Especially the Menders) and secondly because I hate fiends. Got CIV for aesthetic and purpose (And the Fiend: Low it gained was a nice compliment). I found the Antigua guns to be fairly easy to use, and, in the Blackhawk's case, useful against Gremlins.

If you wanted a rarer-used normal-type sword that is still effective, you could go with a Leviathan Blade, a Dread Venom Striker/Wild Hunting Blade, or a Sudaruska/Triglav. As you already know, Leviathan Blade is very versatile, while Cutter's speed and Troika's knockback can also be powerful tools if used well. Leviathan tends to be easier to use for most, though, and Cutter tends to be harder. I'd say it's more on personal preference: if you prefer to spam sword charges, then CIV or Suda/Trig might be a better option for you, in terms of hipster gear.

Ok, I didn't read all of that

Ok, I didn't read all of that reddit comment (most, not all), but it makes sense.
