I kind of hope healthbars on enemies will be removed. I'm planning on opening a thread about this where I eleborate about why I think no healthbars on enemies makes the game a better experience. Let me just say that shadow lairs would have never been as good if I knew the enemy and bosses health

@Djawed you know that you can disable the healthbar option right cuz if not you are total [cog] who can't check the options menu

Bedtimebear still has a point, Djawed, even if the latter half of the sentence was uncalled for. Anyone who doesn't like the enemy health bars don't have an excuse for using them.
OT One thing has caught my attention in this list;
- Fixed some issues with gremlin thwacker hammer attacks in the Firestorm Citadel
Can someone clarify whether it means Gremlin Thwackers or the Thwack Hammer?
You know what, nevermind bros, it's not worth it. I guess I lose this time as it seems the majority is actually fine/happy with it. Every update has had some players leaving for specific reasons. I thought many if not all of the updates were very reasonable.
I guess it's my turn now. It really sucks as I know exactly why no healthbars as a standard was a good thing gameplay wise. No boss fight is gonna be just as intense anymore. My time was divided between monster hunter 3ultimate(which i bought just recently) and this. I guess having more time for other games is a +

Before you leave, can you listen (i.e. read) to my view on the update?
The general opinion on the update as a whole - not just the health bars - is negative, from what I've seen (A lot of people are raging about the UI), while the foe HP bars themselves received a mixed opinions. I, personally, have found bosses more enjoyable, with the tediousness of not knowing where I am in the fight taken out of the equation. While you find it intense, I found it underwhelming and drawn-out (which is OK). Leaving because there's an option to have health bars isn't a very good reason to leave, if I must be honest. Besides, there's worse things in the update than this minor thing.

It's a small thing, yes, you can turn it off, yes. But it's not about that. Game was designed without them for a reason, with this small little thingy, they completly destroyed the soul of the game. Yes. They did. Not to mention 100 other things in latest update, which are, I say again, almost all of them, pure crap.
Im not gonna go into why not, beacuse honestly, I don't care anymore. Discuss all you want, suggest all you want, this game is already lost. No update can ever save it again. Nice job. I bow to you OOO, I guess there is company that is worse than EA.
They patched, patched, patched the game until it became Hello Kitty. Im done with.
Finaly, some more time for my other games! Yaaaay!

EDIT: Daemiax, you're blowing this out of proportion. I agree that some of the things in the Update are horse [cog], but you're placing way, WAY too much emphasis on a little, barely significant thing.
Tell me this; how does it affect you if you turn it off?
It might be on the other path you know, but even though I've begged every party I've ever been with on FSC, I've never had the chance.
As with the other stuff, I know I sinking down low, but I agree with Daemiax.
The issue of the health bars is that for me, I gun and take down enemies slowly, healthbars make the game seem like a long drag, or in you're tier 2 and you happened to die at the start of the jelly king boss, you might say that we're close and that you could do it, and it's possible, but then someone with healthbars on goes and says that oh, the healthbar has hardly gone down we really suck at this, I quit, and then everyone but you quits the run, stupid stupid people, that was the soul of the game, the spirit of the players. Look developers, you've mutilated the soul of the game in several different ways, you've completely shredded the body of the game so it's unusable, what's next
Also, yes, please clarify on Gremlin Thwacker patch. I wouldn't blink if Vog Cubs suddenly showed up in FSC, but Darkfang infantry?
So can we expect corrections to be made to the UI, as well as aesthetic improvement? Or am I being too unrealistic?

When I saw the first picture on my screen, the Spiral Knights updater, I got tears in my eyes. I [scrapping] love this game, but no im done. No more.

There are already enemies from 5 monster families at FSC-undead,fiends,slimes,beasts and constructs.We need only gremlins...That means Acheron and GF will not be that useless at FSC 0_0
Y'all seem a bit confused. There was a thing with the Thwack Hammer weapon being funky in Firestorm Citadel. Now it's fixed.
Restarted, back to 0% ... nah I'm now doing something useful, these updater instabilities have become unbearable...
I fixed this problem. The solution is very banal. I just need to update Java that's all XD .
Well, that puts it into perspective. I think I can see your point with the boss, although I found combat with bosses and some foes more enjoyable.
I hadn't realized I didn't feel like I was doing any impact until an enemy died or flinched until the Health bars were added. Now I can safely say I AM doing something against the bosses, and numbers aren't just flying everywhere trying to be useful. Snarbolax, while Tier 1, is the best example; there were times when I thought I wasn't actually doing any damage, despite the fact every time I hit it, there'd be numbers, and it would fall flat on the floor. In short, I found combat underwhelming on my side.
In hindsight, I was somewhat aggressive in my wording in my previous posts, and for that, I apologize.
Uninstalled Java6, changed Shortcut to use Java7... still does not patch.
Depending on what happens here, I'll be posting a "fully minimizable HUD" petition thread in the suggestions forums.

I have to ask, why would anyone use Thwack Hammer in FSC? It's a 1-star weapon, and I'd assume if people are doing an artificial challenge they'd go for the gold and use their Proto Sword. So I'm rather astonished anyone actually noticed that this was an issue.
I think I figured out the nature of the health bars. The health bars themselves are the things that show up on the minimap. That's why if you turn them off all the monster icons on the minimap disappear.
So, since the disappearing monster icons on the minimap are a feature and not a bug, can you:
- add some text to the option to turn off monster health bars that states it will hide monsters on the minimap?
- perhaps have that button in the options only make the health bars themselves invisible while leaving the icons on the minimap?
I like a lot of things about the update: The more easily accessible birthday accessories, the completed mission thingy, and the monster health bars are nice; however, there are some things that are definitely making the game less fun to play.
1. I can't see my crowns or CE all the time and it's getting to be a major annoyance. Inventory takes a little while to load for me and I just liked glancing over to see what I had and what I could do. I've constantly discovered I had fewer mist than I last remembered or realized that I had no crowns on an alt while in AH and it's getting to be bothersome. I don't care what was intended by not having an option to constantly see the two things I pay the most attention to.
2. I keep missing alerts! I play with the sound off so I don't hear a little ding and barely notice the small orangeness alerting me of an invite or new mail. Perhaps making that entire section of the UI orange or yellow if it's hidden so I'll notice it easier?
I'm fairly content with the new UI, it'll take some getting used to but it's bearable. I'm still going to joke about how stun vials look like urine.
Will we have an option to SWITCH between the new and the old UI so everyone will be happy ? OOO, please answer.3 days, no change...

For those that don`t like the bars in the game, not because they don`t want it, but rather because they don`t want other people to have it is a very elitist attitude.
People have already said they like that aspect. They like knowing information that helps them fight, like when to quit and when to not quit.
If you didn`t like them on your screen, that would be fine. But since you can turn them off and the issue is you don`t like other people being able to see them is just stupid.
When I play any game, I like having as much info as I can about everything in game. Only then does the game become less of a confusion and more of a fun thing. Any change that gives the player more info, especially if it can be turned on or off in settings is a good change.
Using the lack of information to try and make the game fun does not make for good gameplay.

Rahul-Ahl was talking about the Health bars, which allows players to prioritize targets. I don't see how your argument is relevant in this case.
I don't see any changes too, its still looks like a trash. I think they need 1+ month for fix all bugs in new UI. Fixes really ? Vita still can't drop, a weapon selection "wheel" blocks the view of all right side next to player, and today I found this one http://ipicture.ru/uploads/20130406/wnSU7Bgz.jpg and http://ipicture.ru/uploads/20130406/HnBTdRV4.jpg how to compare it ?!?!?! Also this inconvenient thing http://s1.ipicture.ru/uploads/20130406/aUxURU1b.jpg you can see menu when you died in PvE, so for drop some pills you need slide cursor almost to center of screen (to avoid random click in that menu with rev), and you see that in this screenshot there no longer displayed the accessories. New interface is just spoiled a good game. Did developers tested it before released this horrible update ? The old UI was very nice, for me this new UI brings only bugs and inconvenient gameplay. Nice work guys ! (sarcasm)
Why I don't like the new UI:
(besides the fact it's not unique anymore)
1. Huge shield bar & avatar.
I don't need to see my avatar in the top left corner; I know how do I look like. It's useless and distracting.
Same goes for the unnecessarily large Shield health bar.
2. I can't see any of the important info
I can see all of the useless crap (avatar & shield health), but I cannot see the important stuff anymore.
I want to be able to constantly keep my eye on my energy and crowns AND I want to see a pop-up when someone send me trade req. or invite.
Forcing us to open our Arsenal everytime we want to check our CR or CE wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do. It's just insanely annoying.
3. "Annoying Clockwork UI"
Where to begin... The depth indicator is way too small.
We can't see the "waiting on elevator" indicator for our party members.
We can't move the vials/pills around in the, uh, "action bar".
We still see OUR OWN health as a set of tiny rectangles, but we see the party members' health as a single bar. I don't like that. It's ugly and away from SK's unique design.
Please, make it so we see the party members' health bar as tiny rectangles again.
Summary (TLDR):
Everything that isn't important is unnecessarily HUGE while everything we NEED or WANT to see is ridiculously small or takes aditional actions to appear.

Thank you good sir! Now I know why enemies don't appear on my mini-map :-D
I turned off monster health bars as soon as I log on after patch (still being in ready room) so I've never seen monsters on mini-map. I though it might be a bug but since nobody mentioned it on forum I assumed I screw something when I was replacing new icons with old icons in resource folder. I'm glad to hear it's not a case :-)

@Late-night: that revive menu is the same as the old UI.
@Amanzi, the old UI's system of just adding another circle button in the top right (when in clockworks) was even worse. I would like an alert for when you're in haven or RR, though.
@Koffin-Kat, I agree, especially with the Clockwork UI.
Also, what happened to the danger indicator that was part of the minimap? I liked seeing how "difficult" a level was supposed to be with my gear... (Not really useful until you get to red and purple, but still fun...)

I waited for a patch taking in account the player's opinion about the UI, then we got that update ...
Bringing the fans into thinking you will fix the UI problems everyone pointed out. Not cool !
But still no one in the staff talking yet about simply bringing the old UI back ?
Again this is a total downgrade for design AND gameplay!
It still got EVERYTHING to compare with the other Standard-F2P-Action-MMO.

PS: I wasn't a fan of Blizzard before, then I took an update in the knee ... (D3 trial is great, & free too)
I don't know if I will be able to keep the great friends I made there if I quit but I'm still considering selling all my stuff by the end of the month.
Yes the same but before menu with pills was at the top of screen and its allowed you to drop pills without inconvenience when you died.
I use only hot keys for pills so in new UI I can't move pills between 1234 slots, you can do it only if all of 4 slots is busy, if you have all 4 slots empty and you pick up just 1 pill you can't move it for example from 1 to 3 slot (in old UI it was worked). There are to much defects in new UI, how much we must wait for normal game play UI ?
