Hold your applause. I didn't earn it. I bought it. I had a few bucks left over from my bills and... err... "Habits" (and that's $86.78 I'm never going to regret... Fancy Brandy, for the curious) and I figured I'd spend it frivolously... on about $100 worth of CE. After that I crafted up my Night Blade, Sealed Sword, and shield to 5-star, and am now working on my Polaris (Because I'm such a troll).

Anyway, my point is; it feels kinda... hollow... like I didn't do anything to deserve it. I'm keeping it, but I'm going to start from square one with my armour. I'm going to Alchemize a Wolver set, and take it all the way to Vog. Because... well... I do have practical reasons, ASI being one, Elemental Def being the other, but also because I'm a troll.

That said, my current set has practical benefits too...

Acheron (ASI: Low)

Snarbolax Coat (Increased Normal Def: Medium)

Snarbolax Cap (Elemental Def: Medium)

Barbarous Thorn Shield (No UV)

Divine Avenger (No UV)

and soon to be Polaris (No idea yet... hoping for ASI)

Basically, I wanna be able to run into combat and blenderize the unholy hell out of everything that moves. Yay or nay? Suggestions, perhaps?

you bought Snarbolax armor?

You bought Snarbolax armor unbound from someone, rather than doing the Shadow Lair yourself? I imagine that that would feel hollow. But don't beat yourself up. Your stuff is good.

You seem to be into swords. You may find my detailed sword guide useful. In particular, you are conspicuously lacking a piercing sword (or gun or bomb), which makes fiends (the hardest enemy in the game) much more manageable.

Hey Bopp

I read your sword guide, and I guess it's coming down to a matter of the charge attack. I'm kinda torn on that, I like both to be honest, but I only want to invest the time into either the Final Flourish, or the BTB.

On one hand, being able to put a few shots into a tight group at close range is a decent capability, and can out damage the FF on targets if they get straight into my face, where I hope to be most of the time.

But on the other hand, the FF gives me the benefit of having auto target on the charge, greatly reducing the cognitive work to track targets in a fight.

Before I make my decision, how far do you figure the projectiles from the BTB travel? The answer may make or break it for me.

hmm

I don't know how to describe how far they travel. I haven't measured the number of tiles, for example. It's much shorter than the shortest gun shot, for example. Just a few tiles. Try viewing it on YouTube.

Another consideration is that you can mass-craft Flourishes, to get a Final Flourish with a nice UV. To get a BTB with a nice UV, you have to either get lucky on an upgrade, or you have to spend a lot of crowns at Punch.

Another consideration is that the BTB recipes are not available at the Hall of Heroes. So they might take a while to find, or you might have to buy them at a premium from another player. But I recommend that you not make this a major consideration; don't get FF just because BTB is slightly more expensive. Get the sword you want --- whatever that is.

I did a little poking around

Like you said, the Range isn't that great, but I'd use it. I find charge attacks for my swords are seldom used when I can just beat an enemy faster than I can charge, now anyway...

I decided to go with the BTB, I figured it goes with the set I have now, and I kinda like the sinister look to it. Thanks for the help Bopp!
