Swiftstrike and Spur set

First look at the swiftstrike buckler and a 2 star spur sword makes you think they are a part of a set. Both have the same colors and exactly the same swirly effect, looking a bit closer you can notice that swiftstrike's handle could actually fit into the hole at the top of the spur ( not saying that the whole swiftstrike buckler would fit in there but only the handle the knights use to hold the shield ), combining them two doesn't seem like it would result in anything useful but it keeps giving me ideas. Spur has a charge that fires a disk which is another connection to the swiftstrike in a way, spur has the same swirly effect at the hole at the tip of its blade as the effect the swiftstrike has, all of this ensures me that they were actually intended as part of a set.

I would love to see 5 star spur and i would love it to look exactly the same as a 2 star one but bigger, i would love a mission to explain the story behind the 2 weapons and their connection, something touchy like 2 lovers were forced to commit an evil deed by the shadow forces but their purity and love helped them fight away the shadow trying to overtake them long enough to end their lives and ensure they don't ever harm anyone, after they died, sometime later a sword a shield were found there and their connections symbolized the couple dieing in each others arms and their dieing wish to help in the battle against the shadow forces. Something along those lines.

If these weapons were not modeled by some existing weapons in other games or in real life i would guess that their designer had some similar story in mind while making them.

Anyone share my wishes or theories?

Not your wishes.

I'd noticed they both had a similar design, and from this you could infer that:
1. The SSB works via a small, clockwork motor.
2. The 4* and 5* SSBs may, in turn (if ever made upgradable) look blue and blue with shiny edges and more ornate stuffness.

Neither exist IRL.
The 4* Spur makes the 5* 'bigger but identical to 2*' impossible.

Intresting to note that a Spur and SSB combo swings about as fast as a Cutter, not including the latter's ghost strikes.

Observations.

Or developers were just lazy so they reused effects instead of making each thing unique.
That's more likely when you notice almost everything in the game is a recolor of something else.

hmm..

A set for fast normal attacks and moderate defence.
If they ever made an armor for that set it should have movement speed increase but again that's already taken by quicksilver set.

Now it all makes sence!

They didn't make an actual set for spur and Swiftb. becouse quicksilver set was there first.

Sorry if I just destroyed your dream Zeeca but that is how it is.

Quicksilver came later; Winmillion isn't that fast

The Quicksilver/Mercurial sets came later, when the Roarmulus Twins were introduced.

People think that Spur/Winmillion is fast, but it combos slower than Brandishes and only a little faster than Fang of Vog: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/72015#comment-619207.

Winmillion is fast, but longest cooldown of all swords

The attack of the combo is fast, but you'll be stuck standing still for an abnormally long time. The final hit of the combo should have a little more knockback for how long the user is stuck in place.

Recolor, Broken dreams, sets & speks

Well the recolor is probably the right answer here for its design, but hey, nothing to stop me to have my own version but yours seems pretty valid.
Leoneno, you didn't break my dreams man, you would have to break my Exalt to do so :-)
In my opinion 2 items are enough for a set, a shield and a sword as a part of a set and armor can be a set on its own, there is nothing wrong with that
As for the spur, it is ATM the worst possible sword i have tried but one of the most beautiful i have ever seen in game or real life

Weapons tell stories quite often and i like thinking about stories behind the spiral knights weapons, real life stories that influenced their design and how they perform but even more i like the idea of stumbling up scenario rooms with books talking about the old days of the Almirian kingdom when a great wizard enchanted 2 swords for his 2 sons to protect them from dangers on their quests and now, long time after those swords are kept in the spiral order's best defended facilities where they research the 2 striker line swords. I like to think that maybe sometime in the future we get to experience recovering these swords from the tombs of the fallen knights and returning them to the spiral order.

Stories like that are something i like in a game and even though they dont have nothing to do with making money i find those add extra depth to the SK world.

I think it looks majestic in blue. Perhaps at the end of the world when pigs fly and the iron slug gets buffed, we will see multiple lines for winmillion with one yellow?
