Not sure if its a bug or a coincidence. Haven't sent a bug report because I doubt it.
Today, about 3 times already, the party leader has disappeared.
One during The Gauntlet Mission, the other during the start of a Recipe Run and finally one vanished during Blackstone Bridge.
Let me explain more specific:
I would join a party, we would go down the elevator, and when we loaded on the other side, the Leader was missing.
The GUI said we were all there, and you could still PM the player. Then when I would PM the player again, the system finally told me "'Player' Went D/C ..."
My question is, "Where did my players go?" Did OOO secretly steal them for their evil experiments, or is there a bug where instead of showing the D/C icon, the player just visually disappeared?

one terrible screenshot: after the third time, i figured something was wrong but I took the screenshot anyway, was completing the bridge, and it shows 4 players, but the map only shows 3.

Well, yes something like this happened but it wasn't the leader, dunno if you had a coincidence or is another problem.
And the guy still had an icon on the minimap, but couldn't be seen directly.

He was having connection problems, and disappeared suddenly. BUT NOT.

Maybe it's a metaphor, about how he'll always be with us. On our backs, and in our hearts, he'll live on as a part of us!

I had this with my guild mates. We hopped on the elevator, went down and I was at the beginning of the town, with everything drained. It was lag, and it loaded me to D19. I saw my guild mates there. Not sure if it's lag, but everything went back to normal, and my stuff was back too.

happened to me too.

it's because of lag. last time, the party leader dced while on elevator, and it was nowhere to be found down there, but his icon was still there.

Update

I disappeared today :o
it happened to me while also going down the elevator.
Weird, cuz I had a 3 bar connection when I hopped on. Anyway, around 'Loading...36%' the loading stopped. I clicked it and my screen turned gray. (yup, i d/c ed)
Then the prompt came up with "spiral knights not responding, blah blah blah."

Oh yea, This is totally some freaky bug, so im sending this to the bug report sub forum.

I sent OOO an email just now, inquiring about what was happening to the disappearing players, they told me that they were definitely NOT conducting experiments on them, and that @Shidara was definitely NOT one of their test subjects, and that they were definitely NOT working with Aperture Science.

But just in case you really don't know....

@Destructnoid: Look at the bottom right of your window. See where it says SEGA? What's immediately to the left of that?

The thought of OOO working with Aperture is... frightening. I'm not sure why, exactly... But there's something about the thought that creeps me out just a little bit.
