I couldn't find any thread on this, for whatever reason. Now, about Fausts...

Is the Gran Faust faster than the 4* Faust? I use a Vog set and a 4* faust in LD, and it feels like the Skolvers are swinging their GFs faster than me. If this just me, or is GF faster than Faust?

(P.S: yes we are both strikers.)

data

I don't know, but Lancer Knightz has data on the combos per minute for Gran Faust. So if you do the same measurement for your Faust, then you will get a better idea. Of course, complete combos aren't the only way to measure speed; it's possible that GF gets its first swing off faster than does Faust.

Well, probably not but..

Considering they're Skolvers, the clones of LD, those GFs more than likely have ASI UVs on them.
I'd bet that they're actually the same speed w/o UVs. I haven't seen a weapon yet that's changed attack speed majorly between minor upgrades. (I.E. not changing to different type like Autogun->Needle Shot, and even that may not change.)

He said he was using Vog set though, so he should have max asi as well.

I don't think they're different as Gran Faust was the same as Sealed Sword by my own testing, unless they made the 4* slower for some reason.

I doubt it. No one has tested it but I really doubt it. Keep in mind that there might be UVs or trinkets affecting it. Additionally, latency might be an issue.

I kind of mentioned something

I kind of mentioned something related to this in another thread (concerning 4* and 5* troika lines). The lower star the weapon, the more it seems the weapon is faster than its higher-level brothers. Concerning the faust and gran faust, it would make sense if you saw a slightly faster rate of attack for faust. Some other people ingame speculate the slight difference in speed, barely noticeable except with very long and timed tests on it, could have been something OOO put in to help lower level players when they first start playing. The difference, from what I've gathered from others, is practically microseconds though.

BUT... once asi bonuses start stacking up on both weapons, gran faust gains a slight advantage in speed. It's kind of like the effect with some weapon and dmg bonuses.

...

Maybe this is why I suck in LD.

As for the question, I doubt it. If anything, a bigger sword should be slower. Either OOO mucked up logic, or you're being beaten by split second timing.

^ Logic?
Please, it's a cursed sword with a purple, totally unnatural glow. Maybe the *magic* makes it lighter.

@Pingtest

I think you're testing to the wrong server. It says that that server is about 10,000 miles away. Choose a closer one next time?

That's the point though, he's testing the closest one to SK's US server.

These are the results from servers in the regions, I believe, that SK's servers reside... You can see, although EU performance is slightly better, it's actually further away.

Well...

From Personal Experience, Faust is marginally slower than GF's attacks.
However Faust's Charge (why you ever felt compelled to use it) is much faster in comparison.

Both have about the same Curse Chance. Both on you and the enemy.
(Unless you consider yourself the enemy, then you're in luck).

But even with Very High ASI Bonuses, it strikes about the same speed as an Avenger or DA with Low ASI.
So its a pretty slow line, just a heavy hitter with a chance to curse.

If you want to make it Faster with Bonuses, get it:
-UV's
-Strike Modules if you can afford them.

However Faust line.
Still awesome imho.

In my own experience, I have noticed no differences in attack speed at all between Gran Faust, Divine Avenger, or Sudaruska, or anything in their crafting line.
