I don't want to be annoying here but.. 7 - 11 pm PST is around 4 - 8 am where I live? (Belgium)
Sorry but I'm not able to get online to play at that exact time lol. Why is it for such a short time-window only? Or do I have it wrong and is it from 7 pm pst at the beginning of the weekend, till 11 pm pst at the ending of the weekend?

From the way it was described, I almost got the impression that the devs would take the "easy" option when it comes to coding, and simply stand there handing things out in person. (which would limit their online time)
If I'm wrong, then I am so, so sorry for the mobs I just inflicted on them....

i got the same problem here, if this will occur to every event coming at the release of the game then i won't be participating in much of those
except if there will be a gm or such that is online around te same time.

It looks like it's a small window frame, as you said. I don't like it either... you're restricting goodies D: I wonder if they set that time because more people log in from 7PM-11PM more than any other time.

Martinsen, the even starts again in about 6 hours (that's 7 PM PST) and will also go on tomorrow. I do think it's a shame that the log in times are so limited. Granted, I do live on Pacific Standard Time but nearly everyone I bump into in the game is from the Philippines, Australia, or Brazil.

More than fair
If my unconfirmed speculation is correct, then it makes an incredible amount of good sense to restrict the giveaway times- it would mean that the devs have taken time out of their weekends and away from their families to sit in front of a computer and give away valuable free gifts to players, totally outside of any obligation or reasonable expectation that they would ever do so. That's awfully nice of them, and if the times aren't perfect for everyone, it's wonderful that they're dedicating this much time as it is.... and that they made sure to announce the times, in order to make sure people at least had a chance to try logging on.

Beats me. I called it unconfirmed speculation for a reason... I've never physically met any of the devs, and I definitely don't get to work in a place with an octopus-shaped couch.
My assumption was that it'd be done in a way that required as little code as possible, since this is a little side thing in the midst of a busy project with limited dev resources. Alternatively, they could have picked the most junior member of the team, hooked him/her up to a caffeine IV, and come back the next morning to find a fully implemented automatic prize system. I really don't know.

7pm-11pm PST is 4-8pm EST, which are pretty much the main hours of the day where i can't play SK at all

I was online last night
I was online last night during the drawings...basically during the last 30 minutes of the time frame we got red broadcasts announcing winners, essentially "Congratulations! So-and-so has won 300 crowns/super cool 5* rare item from the Holiday Lottery." Based on that, I assume that you have a better chance at winning a prize if you're logged in earlier than 10:59:59, since they started awarding prizes before that. Also, one person won twice, so it doesn't take your name out of the list if you win. And I got the impression that whatever you win is automatically put in your inventory.

7 - 11 pm PST is around 4 - 8 am in my place too. Well, I've got to go to work not later then 8 a.m. so no problem here. Waking up at 4 a.m. is a pain but I should manage. Anyway, for how long can you idle before you will be log off? I mean brushing teeth won't take me long, but what about shower? or clearing snow off the car?

Merethif, activate your chatbox and put something on your spacebar or so. Or else put something on a "movement" key, so you keep running in some direction. No idling out this way! (although having to do things like these points out that the idling out is an issue that needs to be looked at..)
Also: do you increase your chance by being online for the whole time, or does logging in at precisely 10:59:59 give you the same chance at a prize?
