Is the plate line Viable/Good. I woukd use it mostly for vana,.usually not solo and was wondering how good it would serve. For my weapons I wpuld probably use Rocket hammer, GF, Combuster, Sentenza and VV and a tootthpick. Thanks!!

It's better to sacrifice a little defense and go with Vog and it's ASI bonus.
Besides you're using some slow weapons and a full Volcanic would make them even slower (poor GF).

It's not bad on it's own. But it doesn't offer any benefit either. You can overlook the extra defense if you' learn to avoid attacks.
That's why offensive bonuses are more important in the end. With skills you don't need defense anymore so anything else that improves your attack (ASI, CTR, damage bonuses) are more desirable.

The Arsenal
Volcanic plate is very useful in FSC. You don't have Blitz so you will have fun with fighting trojans-that means the extra normal defense will be useful too. Although Volcanic plate armor+helm will make your Hammer and GF too slow. That's why I will suggest something: mix Volcanic Plate helm with Vog Cub coat. You will have ASI Low for your swords and attack speed Decrease Low for your gun-Sentenza, which has great speed and you won't even notice the nerf.

Volcanic Plate is better solo than in a party. In a party, you want to rack up damage bonus due to monsters gaining health for each member in a party. You don't need to worry about defence as much because your group collectively have eachother covered and can revive if on or the other dies. When you're solo, you don't have the luxury, but heavy weapons will kill enemies in a combo or two or a single charge without needing any damage bonus at all.

i agree to #2 vog is superior
your choice of weapons is highly questionable, theyre all fine, but u get volcanic plate just for fsc and then sentenza, gran faust o.O? shadow dmg is junk in fsc
many parties would love a good ctr shivermist, so if u have some bomb focus modules or a ctr ice bomb, most parties will love it!

Plate sets are pretty much the best armor sets in the game if what you want is defense. Which is generally what you'll want if you're having a hard time in some dungeon. The speed reduction they give is mostly imperceptible. As a guy who has been playing since beta I have to say PLATE SET BEST SET

Yep. And when you get hit by Lumbers and Trojans, stun is nowhere a big an issue as it normally is (stun is so cruel sometimes)

You can't dash while holding or releasing a charge. Which is arguably not only the most frequent situation in which you'll be stunned, but also the worst time for it as well.
