Scratch that. I can't play any other online game that ISN'T on the MLG circuit right now (once you start playing, everything else seems like a waste of time), EXCEPT Spiral Knights. This is THE casual game, I can pick up and play and feel nothing to keep me going. I get in, do a few floors and get out. I can LEAVE for months at a time and come back to literally the same game and come back without feeling like I have to grind for hours upon hours to keep up with the meta. This game rewards timing, patience, and good judgement calls. Sure you have to shell out for 5* equips but once you do that you have no need to go any further. OOO did a fantastic job, and I'm happy to say I'll stick with this game for life. Who knows, maybe if you play your cards right our children will be playing this game.
You have a lifetime player here, thanks again guys for giving me something to pick up and play when I come home.
I guess this illustrates the difference in mentality of players. Some have some compulsion to rush straight to the end-game. Only perform an action if it provides profit. To turn a game into work.
And then there's people like this guy/gal/non-gendered entity who fart in the general direction of those ideals and instead say, "I'm going to have fun. I'm not going to obsess over getting the most crowns, nor the most CE, nor whatever. I'm just going to play because I want to."
And in the end that is where the fun comes from this game, the player's mentality. If you choose to obsess over how much mist you have remaining before you start using your crystal supplies, if you choose to concentrate on how much crowns you have before you can purchase absolutely everything, the game will slowly turn into a chore.
