The Levels:
In this stratum you will first enter into what appears to be a haunted library (think of a candlestick keep setting) that will be filled with kats. There's nothing to special on this first floor other than a couple books you can check that have journal entries about a project made to preserve the historical texts.
On the second floor there will be swarms of kats and a few random lichens here and there. Upon touching the party button (halfway through the level) a short cutscene will appear where a kat is about to eat a book but is destroyed by a beam from what looks like an outdated retrode. The 2nd half of this level consists of these retrodes along with shock traps and still a few jellies.
Now on the third floor you will understand why there are random jellies laying about, it's simply because jellies have a natural sleep resistance. You'll be able to read in some more books giving details of how this "project" is made running off clocks and gears imbued with a heavy deal of magic. It is the first artificial creation capable of dealing sleep status. Third floor will be filled with many retrodes, and lichens.
The Boss:
Before entering the room you will be given a warning by a hologram of a masked owlite, who is the deceased inventor of what you are about to face. Upon entering the room you will hear a loud *cr-clunk* and on the other side of the room a pile of dust will spread out, revealing a newly awakened and rusty Owlite Keeper. The Owlite Keeper's appearance is basically like a one-eyed construct wearing a long magic cloak/ hood, with cogs showing in the back, and it wears a medallion that has a pause || symbol on it. It has a strange red aura around it, and controls a large mechanical staff as a weapon.
Boss Attacks:
This boss isn't to overly complicated, what really makes it special is the two unique statuses it can deal.
It is capable of sending out shock waves (similar to a totem sending out revive signals to undead) which can cause one of two statuses selected by random. The first status is sleep, you will fall asleep for 12 seconds and are unable to move unless hit, if you are not hit by the time it wears off you restore 1 health bar. The second status is called alarm (open for suggestions of this status name) this status will do heavy damage to you and will spike your adrenaline giving you 5 sec of increased movement speed. As you can see these are both statuses that can be really bad, but also have benefits.
The boss will also act similar to an npc knight as it will run up close to a player and swing at them once or twice. It can also use a spinning charge attack in the same fashion, which has a very high knockback. The last attack available to this boss are it's magic cogs that it will throw similar to how the shadowstalkers throw shurikens, except at a longer distance. These cogs do low damage, but can shatter any shield within 1 hit.
Boss Attributes:
The defense/ strengths of this boss is similar to vanaduke's mask. It has high pierce def, a little and shadow and elemental defense, and no normal defense. This means that ideally normal damage weapons would be the most effective on this boss.
Ancient Retrode:
This new enemy is basically an oversized, rusty retrode. Their physical attacks are alot stronger than the average retrode, and so are their beams, however they take longer to initiate their attacks. They also have strong shadow defense added on, as they were designed to keep kats from intruding.
There will be an ancient retrode that can be summoned by the Owlite Keeper. This particular retrode varies slightly as that it also has a swing attack (similar to a lumber) that causes a small explosion upon landing. This attack has a chance of causing stun.
idk if i agree with everything in this post but it's a lot better than i could've thought up. i think spiral knights needs a new boss or new levels to keep us interested in PvE. i lvoe the story line but i feel the boss should maybe be an owl??¿¿? thoughts? ('u' )
