With the new UI, the weapon scroll wheel is the only way to determine whether or not a specific weapon is cursed. Many players do not wish to use the weapon scroll wheel as it provides excessive clutter for no actual advantage (except for determining cursed weapons). I feel that the weapon scroll wheel should be used as an optional indicator for newer and less adept players who are not as proficient at changing weapons. Personally, I never use the "Change Weapon Up" key, and instead I have a specific hotkey for each individual weapon: Shift for Weapon 1, Spacebar for Weapon 2, "1" for Weapon 3, and "2" for Weapon 4. With these buttons, the weapon scroll wheel is extremely useless and unnecessary for the amount of screen space it takes up. That is, of course, unless I want to know which weapon is cursed.
In UFSC, Lockdown, and any situation where the player is using a Faust, the weapon scroll wheel shouldn't be required. In addition to the weapon scroll wheel displaying the weapons with their curse status, there needs to be an indicator--either near vials or health--that shows whether or not the weapon currently in hand is cursed. Not only would this change benefit players who do not use the weapon scroll wheel, but it would remove the necessity for even those who do you use the scroll wheel to have to change weapons in order to determine which weapons are cursed.
We could have, under our shield bar where status conditions are seen, some weapon icons with the curse mark on them, not too big, but recognizable so we know what's cursed.
