This suggestion includes yet another lame attempt at getting sleep back and oh wow, more reversed knockback? That Krakob guy sure must love wacky knockback. Let's just start with skills because that's the thing that really matters. The following stuff lists skills and then their ultimate versions.
- Grapple bolt(sounds familiar? I suggested something similar a while ago): a bolt of energy is sent wherever it is aimed. Deals reversed knockback.
- Grapple beam: the bolt is turned into a beam (imagine Seraphynx's beam but the other way around)
- Sloom bolt: the reversed knockback is removed, area of effect is added, sleep is inflicted by the bolt. The closer to the point of impact an enemy is, the bigger the chance of sleep is
- Catnap: the user falls asleep (doesn't heal the player in the same way regular sleep does) while the sprite sends out pulses every other second. Enemies hit by the pulses are knocked back, healing the player.
- Power nap: upon waking up, the user gains a damage bonus (charge time bonus for bombs) based on the amount of enemies affected by pulses.
- Healthy nap: upon waking up, every monster affected by pulses suffers from a debuff making them more likely to drop hearts upon death.
- Distortion: the player gains an aura that makes them attract enemies, like a mobile vortex bomb although weaker but with greater range.
- Master of space: the power of the attraction is greatly increased. Enemies that collide due to Distortion a small amount of damage and suffer from stun. There is additionally a smaller aura created around the player that is used to repel enemies at melee range so that they don't get stuck.
- Master of time: enemies affected by Distortion are frozen in time for a short amount of time.
Skill improvements:
- Grapple beam:
- Focus: reduces cooldown.
- Area: increases area of effect.
- Reach: increases range.
- Catnap:
- Narcolepsy: reduces cooldown.
- Area: increases area of effect.
- Deep sleep: increases amount healed per hit.
- Distortion:
- Focus: reduces cooldown.
- Area: increases area of effect.
- Safety: power (though not area) of the inner aura is increased.
Inspiration:
The whole idea circulates around the Moon, since yeah, moonstone. The gravitational parts are derived from the fact that the moon is pretty big and has it's own gravity and stuff. The sleep is because people usually sleep when the moon is up. That's pretty simple. Perhaps you could somehow integrate water here, due to tides and stuff.
Appearance:
I don't really have any specific idea about how this thing would look. A non-newtonian liquid? That'd be funny 'cause tides and distortion of space and stuff.
Presented criticism:
None so far. Criticise on!
Grapple Bolt:
Why does the function of this ability change completely when one ultimate is upgraded? Ultimates enhance abilities, not change them. Keep the two functions as separate abilities.
How does the Area upgrade affect the Grapple Beam ultimate?
Catnap:
Tell me how this healing ability is balanced with Seraphynx's Heart ability? If the healing is only minimal, it'd be overly risky and probably a waste of time to use since you'd probably lose all the health you gained if you're woken abruptly during a fight. If it's too much, you could just wait till there's one enemy left and then use it, since the knockback will keep the enemy at bay.
It would probably be better to create something new than to try to recycle heavily unbalanced content. This ability can be used once every 40 seconds. That's a lot of time the user spends sleeping.
Distortion:
I think having an ability that traps enemies in a certain area probably pretty overpowered. Although it is a final ability, (balanced by the cooldown) and as long as the duration isn't too great (6-8 seconds of this when maxed out would probably be balanced)
The "master of time" upgrade can simply be replaced with sleep infliction.
