Fire Crystals > Sparks of Life > Orbs of Alchemy.
I kind of feel the OoA drops must be buffed and the SoLs nerfed, or evened out somehow. I keep grinding Jelly Palace for 3* OoA's but keep coming up short. And I'm too busy with it to grind FSC and spend CE on them (Don't ask why)

Never played that one (Actually, I've only heard of it). Played OoT, though, which is probably why I read OoA as I do.
And when I farm IMCF, I get Glowing Fire Crystals and rarely Shining Fire Crystals... :/ When I farm In Cold Blood, I get major points in Eternal Orbs of Alchemy. :) When I farm RJP with mah Nightblade in Elite Mode, I get purely Spark of Life. So I get a clean cycle.
This makes sense; it's because you die more often than you need to craft things.
Considering that the higher tier orbs of alchemy costs more CE per orb than CE per spark of life in the supply depot, I think it makes sense that they rarely drop in comparison to sparks of life. The lower tier ones that costs less may need a higher drop rate, but that's pretty much it.
Also, you're not farming the orbs right. Do arcade. I've found way more orbs of alchemy by doing arcade runs in comparison to spamming boss missions. Try going through treasure vaults too (yes, treasure vaults are now more worthwhile in my opinion with how rarities drops from chests).
@Skye-Lightning - If you want shining fire crystals definitely don't spam boss missions. The only places they drop in boss missions are the last floors of the T2 boss missions, meaning the boss stage. Do stratum 5 arcade runs instead.
Ya, if you got too many sparks, abuse them to play on harder/deeper levels.
Elite danger missions, arcade arenas or even compounds can still be troublesome.
The game doesn't want you to spam bosses.
