Add a Indicator/sign that shows when a knight is out of Sparks of Life.

There are knights out there who think it's ''OK'' to just lie about having ran out of sparks of life and then tricking a other knight into reviving them as that knight does not know whether they're being told the truth or not.

Before the UI got changed, one could find out whether a knight was lying about not having enough CE to revive or whether they needed tabbing. They could've just looked at the portrait of that knight and looked at whether there was a sign next to their health bar and if so, which sign it was.

Could something like that be added back into the game please. I'd like to know when I should revive someone, leave them dead or kick them from the party. This would decrease the amount of attempts of a knight tricking a other knight into reviving them.

Or better yet, bring back health revives so we don't have to worry about wasting Sparks.

Ya, but before the update you had no way to know if the knight was completely poor or could just buy energy using his stash of 100000000000cr either.

+1. add a silver heart to each players portrait when they are dead to mean they have a spark and a black broken one when they don't.

What? No...

There you go! Another reason why Spark of Life revives were needed.

Why do people seem to think

Why do people seem to think that health revives and Sparks are mutually exclusive?

Why do you think health revs were good? Because they took away death. Don't lie, thats the only reason. If health revs "encoraged team work" then why is the only real use for it to aboose alt farming and removing a penilty for death? Don't bring up heat. I'm talking from an end game point. Also even if I wasen't talking from an endgame point why does heat from a single floor matter when you can just redo it for free or do another one?

The reason health revives are good is because they let you help your friends. That's a good thing no matter what, and in the case of Spiral Knights it's the primary selling point. From an endgame standpoint, they let you have more knights on the field without extreme cost; this is a good thing (more DPS) no matter the level of play, but it's especially helpful when you're doing a highly team-dependent strategy on a boss run. As for "removing the penalty of death" , it's not like there aren't ways to balance that out. Make the conversion less efficient, or require that you need a certain amount of health for a revive. (The latter would mean removing "Walk It Off" so I hope that isn't needed.) A friend of mine just suggested making health revives work off capsules. There are ways to make health revives cost something.

And besides, by removing health revives Three Rings broke something that didn't need fixing and was a contributor to SK's avowed main draw; teamwork. Heat doesn't figure into it.

EDIT: I just realized that there isn't really a penalty for death anyway. If you die, just return to Haven and rejoin your party/restart your run, because free elevators. You'll easily make up the lost heat; the only cost is frustration. Frustration is bad. Health revives cut down on frustration.

Rejoining a party will return

Rejoining a party will return you with the same amount of health you had, minus the consumables you've picked up. I'm not sure how this mechanic works, but the better choice is to restart the level and not rejoining the party.

Carry on.

My point still stands,

My point still stands, though. Dying doesn't cost you anything, anyway, since you can just carry on somewhere else, possibly with the rest of your party tagging along. Not having a revive handy just makes the process more frustrating.

i love the idea.

In addition to that, they should make it optional for knights to display how many sparks of life they have. Like if you click on their avatar, next to the "revive with spark of life" option, it should display two numbers, the first being the number of sparks you have and the second being the number of sparks they have.

They could probably colorcode the numbers, or put one before the words "revive with...." and one after to make it easier to know who's is who's.

I say that cuz I'm sure there are going to be knights saying "i only have x sparks left, please rev me". Sure it's a much lesser issue, but that's why it should just be an option.

Displaying the number of Sparks the knight has got would be a very good idea to stop people from saying that they only have a certain amount of sparks left. Infact, I think that displaying the numbers should not be a optional thing. I know some knights might disagree with here as they wouldn't want others to see how many sparks they have, assuming it if it was low, but if It stops them from tricking other players then it's more necessary to display it.

It should say something like this ''(Name here) has (number here) Spark(s) of life''.

Yo.

The people I play with tend to throw sparks of life around because they have spares, but I'd like showing them that I have enough myself!

So, yay to the number of Sparks of Life a player has being shown somewhere easily accessible.

Sometimes I don't mind being generous, but yeah, it would be nice to know if they're a liar that needs to be taught a lesson or legitimately need bailing out.

(On the subject of revives, I liked the idea of a "Life Capsule" that someone came up with...)

It's disappointing to see that something I thought would be good for the game and it's players gets less attention than many troll threads or those other threads that suggest something pretty darn ridiculous...

This seriously needs to happen. I'm sick and tired of bad players lying to me saying they only had the 1 Spark. It happens all the time to me in Heart of Ice. ;_;

I have a lot of these sparks and honestly don't mind giving out a spark to people who really need it when they sit there for a good 2-3 minutes saying they can't revive. But don't revive yourself right after you die a third time come on. .-.

Also, health sharing lowered your health and your partners. In this new system you can actually keep your own health with an addition of getting your friend back to full health. I'm really confused as to why people don't want this.

there a lot of stuff wrong

there a lot of stuff wrong with new GUI like not being able to tell what mission difficulty you're on or if someone has a vita , so this is definitely a good place to start.

You were able to do that with the old system as well. CE Revive anyone?

Back to topic: Yes, something like this could be really useful.

A flawless flaw...

@Blazzerus - It's probably because some knights don't want to pay 50e when they run out sparks. It's understandable why a knight in tier 1 or 2 might say that they liked the old revival system better. The tier 3 players ,who complain, should just go on elite arcade runs whether it's tier 2 or tier 3 (I don't think a tier 3 player would benefit much from a tier 1 arcade run, but that's my opinion...). You're quite likely to find at least one spark.

I too like this new revival system even though it has its flaws.

Uhh, because if they don't have sparks they have to pay 50 ce to revive while before their friend could rev 'em from free? Maybe?
I don't know how many sparks you have, some people rarely amass more than 5( I have 30 and I don't want to waste them, If I fail, I completely restart the level)
