They are meant to do statuses and be equal, not kill some undeads in FSC only. This counts double for you, shivermist. I don't care if their damage is low, I want it to fit everywhere.

Firstly, 4/5 (I think) are elemental damage Statuses. Fire, Shock, Freeze, and Poison all deal elemental damage (Sleep also deals elemental), Stun deals normal damage and Curse deals Shadow Damage. No statuses deal Piercing damage. It makes sense that the bombs deal elemental damage as their Statuses are also Elemental (and Normal).

Secondly, if we changed all of the Haze Bombs to normal we'd have more Normal damage type bombs than any other type.

Thirdly, you say it double counts for Shivermist, but that bomb can even be used in Beast and Gremlin levels. The freeze still lasts the same time on them as it would for Construct and Undead. So if you wanted to you could still use Stagger Storm, Shivermist Buster, Venom Veiler, and even Voltaic Tempest (Shock can interrupt enemies attacks). These statuses are still somewhat useful in situations including Beast and Gremlins. The damage output would be weak but the Status would be helpful. Ash of Agni would be completely useless though because it doesn't do anything special other then damage.

(Stun - Slows enemies down)
(Poison - Enemies cannot heal)
(Shock - Interrupts attacks)
(Freeze - Prevents enemies from moving)

Fire doesn't do anything useful against Beasts or Gremlins.

The reason why I'm saying all this is because Haze Bombs can still be used in Gremlin/Beast levels, despite being Elemental damage. They may not exactly be the most useful but they can help. (Voltaic tempest is also useful for Devilites)

Just to make matters clear, Potato is not talking about the statuses themselves, but rather the damage type of vials.

Fire deals fire damage. Not normal damage. Not elemental damage. Fire damage. It's completely and totally unaffected by any kind of defence that is not fire resistance.

Shock deals elemental damage.

Freeze most likely deals freeze damage. It's hard to come by enemies with various degrees of freeze and normal defence, but, unlike shock, stronger freeze deals larger amounts of damage and as such I assume it does not do normal damage. Thawing deals the same amount of damage to all the bags in GTH.

Sleep, stun and poison do not inflict damage whatsoever.

Curse deals curse damage. The damage can be lowered by curse resistance and nothing else. Wearing Snarbolax gear will slightly increase curse damage for some reason.

I believe Gremlins are more vulnerable to Freeze. I know the duration is increased, although I haven't tested the damage. They are also vulnerable to poison, but resistant to Shock and Fire.
