I would like to be able to press a key that opens a text line for guild chat like it extsts for chat. Don't want to type /g all the time.

Another option is to bind "g"
Another option is to bind "g" as an option for the slash key, and then guild chat by hitting g g space, which is a bit easier than slash g space. A specific guild chat hotkey would be nice, though and it's not like it would take much to put one in.

As someone who used to play forsaken world a lot
I can agree with this. Its a bit aggravating when I'm in clockworks and a guild member needs to talk to me. If I could just hit enter, type it real fast, then hit enter again it would save me enough time to dodge that fireball that always seems to wait for me to start typing. It wouldn't save much time, but it WOULD stop a whole lot of extra wrong chats.

We shouldn't have to use workarounds, however simple, for something that should be much more easily done by adding it into the game.

You don't even have to press enter. You can literally just type /g and it will open up your chat window.
You only need to do /g once, then if you want to do guild chat, simple press [enter] and then press the [Up arrow] key.
Problem solved.
