The new update introduced rarities to replace mist energy. I think the replacement is fair (heat forge is a bit annoying, but manageable). However, there is a small problem:
Currently there are lots of people with a huge plethora of *untradeable* high level alchemy orbs (4* and 5*) and sparks of life. I'm willing to bet eventually every vanguard will have hundreds and thousands of such rarities bound and unused in their inventory.
This is because crafting 4* and 5* gear (the only way to get rid of the orbs) is very time consuming since heating the gear to craftable levels takes a long time under the new heating system. There is also very little incentive to craft 4* and 5* since T3 gear is not profitable on the market.
Sparks of Life are also underused by veteran players since each floor provides a free revive in the clockworks. The rare extra deaths that occur happen far less frequently the SoL drops.
I understand why the developers felt a need to make rarity drops bound, but I don't see why they must be untradeable to NPCs as well. If I could sell a bound eternal orb to a vendor for even 100 crs, I would do it.

If shadow lairs were more accessible, the amount of players with extra sparks would drop dramatically.
