I am doing a project for school that involves Spiral Knights. I introduced my group to this game to do for our project and i was telling them about the game. One of the kids really liked the idea of the handguns and asked if it was possible to go dual wield with guns. I said no obviously, but thought it was an awesome idea.

I was thinking that if enough people think this is a good idea we should try to get it into the game. I was thinking to keep it not too powerful that you wouldn't be able to shield or if you still could there would be a damage reduction or something. Leave what you think in the comments please!

With a damage reduction, you're removing the only point of dual wielding. Just use a swiftstrike and increase your DPS.

See, kids may argue it looks 'badass' but it's useless in terms of gameplay.

Second of all, it makes no sense to have guns get damage reduction. Swords can get it because the dual wield is in your non-sword arm, but guns do not suffer from non gun arms.

Third of all, what was this project about?

Wait a sec...

What's the point of double-wielding guns? Why not just switch shoot your alchemers? I don't see what is special about dual-wielding guns.

Kids? No, please. ._.

With duel wielding, I could use a 5* cutter for both sides of me, causing rapid death. >_>

And this isn't a suggestion much. This is more of "u kno, dey liek dis ideza. pls wite h0w u liek et!!".

Wha.

If you wanna dual-wield, you can just use the Cutter swords, as they attack twice with each slash. It can give you the feel of having two blades, without actually wielding two seperate swords. Not to mention, you'd be defenseless without a proper shield. Sure, you can block with the swords, but that'll cause them to break and be unusable until they regenerate from the energy in the atmosphere. (That's what I thought made the shields regenerate, at least. It seems fitting.)

The whole point of dual-wielding in other games is to increase your attack damage output and offensive capabilities. A damage reduction will pretty much negate the original passive attribute they usually accompanies dual-wielded weapons.

As for dual-wielding guns... imagine firing two Callahans, without being able to control the massive recoil, and the charge attack will literally rocket you across the map. It'd be more passive to just switch between shots, not to mention, it'll have a much longer delay if you fire one too many shots and you have to reload them.

hush draggies. i creep in.

In many various of other games, we have twin guns and double swords.

In this game, we call it 'weapon switching'.

Forge yerself the same weapons and do weapon 1 & 2 hotkeys functions with attack hotkey + shield canceling. This is the best results ye can have, on this game's perspect.

I could slam a plethora of gifs here explaining the concept of "no"...

or I could simply ask what teacher allows a school project to be about a video game that only supplies an education in near-psychopathic tendencies and occasional divine wrath/hubris.
