This may be my first post AND expansion idea in here, it's still a 'Work in progress', and i'd love to recieve some feedback on what could be better, another side note is that im actually spanish (I know there's a spanish forum, but i prefer posting it here), so, if there's a gramatical error, please tell me.

Story:
The Spiral order finds a mysterious artifact in what appears to be Old ruins, built by Gremlins a long time ago, not knowing what it is they decide to deliver it to the Laboratory; After countless studies, they couldn't find out what it actually was, only that it worked with Energy, somehow... Why would gremlins build something related to Energy, "It might be related to Razwog..." they thought. To test what this artifact did, they decided to bring it to the core, it was no easy task; However, they couldn't make it work, maybe Gremlins know... The Spiral order decided to keep it safe for now. Days later they recieve a Gremlin message, saying that they already knew they took the artifact, and if they didn't give it back to them, bad things would happen to both of them, the Spiral order doubted about this. About a week later, the Undead attacked the Laboratory, seeking for this mysterious artifact, the knights started fighting, but as the battle progressed, the number of Undeads increased, up to the point that the Knights could fight no longer, the Undeads took away the Artifact...

After that incident, the environment of Cradle starts changing, creatures that haven't been seen before start attacking the Knights that wander around the Clockworks, and nobody knows why. Time runs, and these creatures start appearing more often, the Knights that saw them describe those beasts as "Made of Shining, indestructible gold", and strange looking Wolvers. After many investigations, they found out that these beasts are Creatures from the past, already extinct, it seems that Lord Vanaduke brought these creatures back with the Mysterious Artifact, maybe using the Core's energy, but... How? Why did he do this, simple, he needed their help to end with the Spiral Order and bring peace back to Almire. Knowing this, the Spiral order decides to take part in this and destroy the Artifact...

After this decision, they started looking for this Artifact, and failed terribly, as they couldn't defeat these Mighty beasts; Once again they recieved a Gremlin message, this time from Seerus: "It seems that you mongrels can't defeat these Ancient creatures by yourselves... We decided to help you for now, as these creatures are a threat to our civilization aswell... Knights and Gremlins shall leave their differences and rivalty aside, to defeat the Ancients... What i cannot understand is, how did that Almire king summon these beasts... Only gremlins know... Do we have a traitor around?".

Days later, after working with the Gremlins, and succesfully defeating part of these creatures, they find a New beast... According to the knights, it looks like "Some sort of Mechanical, Giant spherical turtle, who possesses tremendous power"...

The Main idea of this expansion is to bring back the Old monsters, and maybe give the New players and example of how the Old game was like.

The expansion itself may be divided in 2 Parts:

  • Finding and Protecting the Artifact
  • The mission has 3 depths, 2 in the Clockworks: The first one is like a Normal Depth, and the second one is kind of like a Compound, at the end you find the Artifact and go back to the Laboratory, and the third one is The Laboratory itself, with some Dialogue and then the Undeads attack, kind of like a Scripted scene
  • Fighting alongside the Gremlins to Destroy the Artifact
  • This one has 5 depths, as usual, the Depths are normal but special at the same time, they're meant to be like the Old design, as shown in the first SK trailer (Kind of), and the Last depth might be a Tortodrone fight (As shown in the trailer, too), but with more enemies around you.

Other ideas for the depths are welcome, i kinda want it to be like a Collab, so everyone (Or most of the people) like it.

-The enemies, other depths details and Boss fight it's a "W.I.P"-

The story is...

... eh, some plotholes. Spiral already has an artifact, taken from the gremlins, in the Lab. I find it wierd to completely ignore that one and put another one in the SAME EXACT place as the one we found before.

Also, why would gremlins build some old ruins? That doesn't make sense, they engineered the clockworks for crying out loud!

I do like the idea of a "Nostalgia" addon.

That artifact, i forgot...

Well, yeah, i might edit that, i forgot about the Artifact at the very beggining of the game, sorry, my bad :c

"Also, why would gremlins build some old ruins? That doesn't make sense, they engineered the clockworks for crying out loud!"
About that, it's not like they BUILT a new zone and made it look old, it's supposed to be like "They built something really long time ago, and the building just... got ruined or something, and been protecting that artifact since a long time ago"
Might have forgotten to point that out, in case it wasn't too obvious.

Thanks for the fast reply, tho :D

Perhaps, but, the core is

Perhaps, but, the core is most likely containing something, along with the entirety of the clockworks. If they built ALL that to protect what is in the core/prevent people from getting to it, why would they leave this other super-destructive object in the middle of some old clockworks levels? I feel like they would build a giant facility with lazers and battlepods and roarmulus turrets and rabid snarbolaxes and darkfire vanadukes and swarm seeds.... okay maybe not that much, but you get the point ;)

Derpuraptor Strikes Back

Still, look at the Clockworks. How many years do you think it ALL took the gremlins to create? They must have had advanced technology for a while now. Why would they want to put their own ancient shrines and such in the Clockworks?

Might be...

Might be related to the Core, might not, i truly don't want to leave everything exposed... Why not leave some secrets in this?
Tho', what you're saying is really helping me with this little project... Hmm, might change some other parts and edit it later.

Thanks.

good idea

BUT, you need to add some expansion only weapons and armor, the points of the expansion missions is to EXPAND your gameplay, so if you dont add them, they wont implement this idea. Also add cool weapons and ill +1 it but fer now mabye

Plot holes

like what Frydhamstr said, there are a lot of plot holes in this, but the idea of bringing back the old monsters does seem enticing. Fix the story up and add some rewards and you might have yourself a good idea.
