I find it odd that you use the right mouse button to use the shield normally, but if you want to use the shield bash, you have to use the left. It would make more sense in my opinion to use the right mouse button to use the shield bash, since it's the same button. It's just a small problem though, so I can adapt to the way it currently is.

Depends on how you want to see it.
Shield bash deals damage, it's bound to the attack button. The dash is designed to evade attacks, a defensive move, just like shielding.
There are lazy justifications for everything!
You do know that you can rebind keys, right?
