Ever been in that awkward situation where you and some other knight brought the same haze bomb into a stage? "Damn", you think to yourself. "Now I wasted a slot".
I think that sucks. No other weapon is like that. Two Combusters on the scene? Awesome, double the damage! Two Nitros? Total coverage! Two Blitz Needle? Vana is going down for sure! But not two haze bombs.
What a waste to bring a second haze bomb.
Now, being able to set an enemy on fire four times simultaneously is a bit overkill perhaps, but I think there should be an incentive to overlap mist bombs and for a team to bring several of them, if only a small one. I propose...
What the heck is mist stacking?
Mist stacking is the act of putting two mist bombs of the same type on top of eachother. It will only work of the bombs are if the same tier. (A 4* and a 5* bomb can stack, but not a 3* and a 4* one.) The overlapping area will produce a slightly stronger effect. How much stronger? 0.5 units.
For reference, a low status resistance is 1 unit. An Ash of Agni deals strength 0 fire, Magma Driver produces strength 2 fire, Combuster strength 4 and Drakon's Firestorm 1.5. So overlapping 3 Ash of Agni would be as strong as Firestorm then.
Only the overlapping area has the stronger effect. As soon as one dissipates, the effect dimishes again. You can overlap your own mist bombs or with those of others freely. There will be a limit to this stacking, and that limit will be, say, 4 bombs. You can never go above moderate status with mist bombs, and you probably won't be able to exceed 1.5 alone.
I think this'll make mist bombs a little more engaging to use, and a knight stuck with only a usable mist bomb and nothing else in a situation can feel satisfied that their constant spam is making a difference, even if only a small one.
Side note: Why is Combuster seeming more and more OP? I'm guessing VoV is the only other thing with strength 4?
Otherwise...+1 to this idea. Bombing needs more mechanics to make it more interesting to use, IMO. Yes, bombs are already interesting, but they're rather straightforward, unlike guns and swords. (Ok, ok, Combuster is the most straightforward thing on the planet.)
I'm an amateur bomber, so I could be wrong.
