Enemies move, right? If something is coming near you...
Specifically fiends like greavers or an angry gorgos.
1 The swing isn't the point of the snarb barb attack, the point is to launch a cone of damaging missiles with short range to either hit enemies trapping you or to hit a slow and or large target with most of the barbs.
2 This isn't a suggestion. All you have done is stated the obvious.
