A Way to Fix Sleep. (+a tiny little nerf to chaos) (Updated ever so slightly).

So I've made multiple Sleep threads before, but I finally have a solution.

A way to fix Sleep:

-Remove the health bonus at the end.
-Make it so you don't stand in one spot

Add:
You walk slowly. Not slow like Stun but something like MSD Max!. (Should it be more or less? Apparently MSD High isn't even that noticeable).
You cannot use Dash.
You cannot use Shield Bash.
You cannot use your Sprite.
You cannot use your shield.
Seeing Monster damage and health is disabled.

A possibility:
-Extend the amount of time you are inflicted with it. Curse is 40 seconds, right? What about making Sleep start at 20 seconds (with no resistance). That way, it might make this work:

-You screen slowly blinks away, making your screen black and then normal, but it's done slowly (a slight compromise with Waffleconecake).

Note that Sleep is a top-tier status, is this may seem a little overpowered(?).

A side note:
If this happened, you could bring back the "old chaos". By that I mean add Sleep and Stun penalty to chaos.

Updated different thread. I thought I may aswell re-use a thread instead of making another. Turns out that if you update a different thread it's still on the other pages, so I'm only bumping this because it's new and no one's seen it.

This isn't even sleep anymore. It's more like a tertiary systems scramble.
And if you can't attack as well, then it's an OP version of curse.
Or an OP version of stun: You can walk faster, but your ability to attack or use skills has been completely removed, and it lasts 4 times as long?
What about your ability to sheild? If that's taken away as well, then it's pretty much "Should just let myself get hit by the Greaver swarms, Mecha Knights and Phantoms, or should I fruitlessly try to escape them and get hit anyway?"

You walk slowly because it's like you sleep walk. Perhaps it needs to make you slower. But if you stand still, it's like freeze. That's why I made it so you could still move. And I didn't say anything about attacking. You say this isn't even sleep anymore, but there's not much you can do to fix it. And I'd love to experience Starlight Cradle. You can't use you Dash, Shield Bash, or Sprite because you don't have the energy to (you're too tired).

Hence why it was removed. The whole thing is pretty badly broken.
I'd love to experience the game's beta, but that's not going to happen. The developers have no reason to let us play the earlier, more terrible versions of the game.

And I didn't say anything about attacking

So can you attack or can't you? You haven't made that clear. If you can attack and shield, but can't use skills, and move slower but are still running (MSD High isn't *that* noticeable, even MSD: Max! is still a brisk waltz) , then a better name for it is intoxication, since it slows reaction time and interferes with the concentration of the victim but doesn't instantly cause them to fall unconscious or weaken them.

Perhaps a way to implement sleep would be to make it more like what stun should be; you become dazed.

Sleep could give you partial vision or blur the vision, as if you are tiring, you could become lethargic as stun does and perhaps make your knight stumble/harder to control or move.

  1. When a player is put to sleep, they get completely incapacitated, just like the sleep we already know of.
  2. The player also becomes completely invulnerable... HOWEVER!
  3. Falling asleep transports the player to the "Nightmare realm" which is basically a little arena that looks a lot like the uknown passage and has swarms attacking you.
  4. Dying in the nightmare realm kills you in cradle. You escape when the status' duration is up.
  5. Sleep's inherent health regen is gone, but monsters in the nightmare realm may drop hearts you can use to restore your health.
  6. After awakening from sleep, you're inflicted with the "well-rested" status and cannot fall asleep again for a full minute.
  7. There's could be different nightmares too, like being transported to the final wave of an arena, or being chased through an endless black void by gold greavers while being stunned.

That actually sounds pretty interesting, but it seems a little overpowered because it all depends on the gear the person has to survive through it. Maybe give them a "fixed" set of gear?

going back to the origional, sleep should let you go at full speed and be shorter then 20 seconds

@people who think sleep can work as sleep

We can't fix sleep with out making it over shadow a current status.
Now all it does is overshadow stun.
What we need is a new status.
How about blind.
Here are 2 threads about it.

if there was "blind" I think

if there was "blind" I think it would make all of the player's screen black (except their knight and other stuff) so they can't see anything and make enemys attack randomly unless they touch you

That is the idea behind the blind status. My thread makes it clear that is what it is about and I'm half sure so was Utrex's.
I'm not sure what you are trying to say with that statement.

your idea reduces vision

your idea reduces vision range, mine makes them not able to see at all, big diffrence

That sounds like too much.

Yours sounds brokenly powerful. Mine also reduces accuracy of hits. If it isn't in the OP I know it is in the posts.
Lets avoid going off course in this thread. If you would like to continue talking about this just post it in my thread.

Instead of blind, maybe we could add a status called SOPA! It would censor your health and shield whilst turning your model and the monsters into blank black strips with CENSORED on it. Maybe it's the new boss! Maybe the new boss is called the Core Pirate and he throws soap at you... Maybe.

Make Sleep such that you are immune to the hit that wakes you up. Shorten the duration to that of stun. Keep the health regen at the end.

-1 to sleep stuff

Sleep is being implemented into the game soon proabably and your idea of sleep would be terrible and it would be worse than shock. As for the chaos nerf sure. I have stun resist max anyway.
