Party leaders can be quite the dictators and this is not always a bad thing but this power can be abused. I have never personally had problems myself but I have witnessed them as well as read about them on these forums. There needs to be a limit on the situations which a party leader can kick other players.

-Kicking players from a group should be democratic aka voting. (Anyone can initiate a kick and everyone else votes.)

-Players shouldn't be able to initiate a kick while dead. (Party leaders have been known to blackmail players into rezzing them.)

-When a kick is passed the game should act as if the kicked player used the "Go Solo" option. (Sometimes players invest a lot of time into a run and shouldn't have to yield that investment.)

I admit that I do not fully understand what happens when kicked from a party whether a player is returned to haven or if my suggestion is already a part of the game. Regardless it seems important this is implemented because there is no reason to return players to haven when the functionality of splitting instances already exists.

well first off

kick = forced solo, but you lose your heat, vitapod, and vials.

No to all of these.
If you are having issues with a party leader go make your own party. They started it, it is their. "But I want to play with my friends" Then again, start a party and you control it.
If the party leader is being a di- jerk and demanding a rev tell all your friends and guildies about them and leave. Take any friend in the party with you.

The only issue I have with the party system currently is that a party is locked after you kick someone and all floor items are lost for the person going solo or leaving. Both of those need to change.

"No to all of these."

It amuses me that you said that as if you think you had some sort of say in the validity of suggestions.

Thanks for clearing that up. Wasn't certain exactly how that worked.

2 friends could be plotting on purpose, knowing they'll never get kicked since together they'll hold 50% of the votes.
Alone, one player could be bumping enemies in your face. You revive, he kills you again while you're busy clicking to kick them.

The point is, no matter what, if trolls want to troll you, they'll find a way. All the current jerk leaders will turn into jerk regulars.

Maybe

Maybe, unless the kick initiator didn't get a vote.

I have that game in my library but I haven't got around to playing it. How does the party system work in there?

If you don't like random behaviour of random people, don't join random parties.
Make your own, play with friends...

If they try to blackmail you into reviving them, you can always complain (not on the forums!).

Not having kicked folks lose everything seems the only reasonable suggestion there.

Voting will just have some random group join one guy who's half-way to Basil, then they kick the leader who hasn't done anything but saved them time.

If some person who continues to not listen gets me killed, I have good reason to kick them.

On the bottom line, your suggestion just switches the possible nuisance from leader to joiners. If you don't like how random leaders behave, make your own party.

In l4d, there's a democratic system like the OP wants. But if someone gets kicked a bot replaces him.
