Now we can block fire status ticks, like with shock ticks. I'm pretty sure we couldn't before. Was this a stealth change in one of the recent patches?

I may be digging my hole deeper, but can anyone confirm that? I'm pretty sure I've never blocked a tick of damage from fire status, and I'm also sure that I wasn't taking any damage while blocking today.

Before patch I could only
Before patch I could only block shock ticks, fire ticks always went through. Haven't tested after patch.

I had a Fire tick hurt me
I had a Fire tick hurt me half as much with my shield up as with it down about one hour ago (half a bar versus one full bar. Observed this no less than 3 separate times on the same floor). Definitely didn't help any before the recent large patch.
For reference, I have full Vog Cub armor and a Wise Owlite shield. I've had the shield for at least 2 weeks.

I just tested in the training
I just tested in the training room, and I do take partial damage while blocking. I guess I was wrong about that.
In other news, I found a use for the training room.

Are you sure that it's not
Are you sure that it's not the Shield's status resistance coming into play?
Nothing changed, we could already do this before. Your shield will not block all of the fire damage though.
